Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Sharaku on Sat Nov 19, 2016 7:00 pm

....this certainly wasn't a planned adventure. To be honest, it's not like Sharaku was even sure how this happened in the first place. It was a bit of a blur memory-wise once he snapped out of the initial daze, and took too fast anyway. Did they fall through some space-ripple or such? Maybe this was a different dimension. With no exit in sight, that is. How wonderful.

All in all, he wasn't sure whether to feel bothered or not. This place was pretty odd though. It looked like some fantasy land you'd imagine magical creatures from movies and books to be living in. There didn't seem to be a typical sun, but instead most of the land was bathed in a strangely fluorescent bluish light, which only made the scenery seem more otherworldly. Currently, they were situated in a grassy clearing, surrounded by what appeared to be a fantasy version of a lush rainforest. Colorful unknown plants everywhere, oversized glowing mushrooms, and trees with crystal like fruits on them. Maybe this was just a very...over-exaggerated dream of sorts...? He didn't remember getting high before this though, nor drunk, so he wasn't sure what would even inspire something like this.

As distracting as the scenery was though, he would eventually shift his gaze, realizing he wasn't alone here. For a moment, he wouldn't react, eventually just cocking his head at the other.

''Morning, sunshine?''

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Sat Nov 19, 2016 9:52 pm

He remembered being out and drinking with the guy called Sharaku and he also remembered that he had been too tired to walk back home, so instead had decided to crash in town. He couldn’t remember how or why he had decided to ask the guy he was with if he wanted to stay in the inn too or even how they ended up settling on the matter which occurred... but somehow, some way they had ended up sharing a room with double beds in the end and deciding to split the bill 50/50.

Outside of the mystery of why they decided to share the room in the first place, no other problems seemed to come up that the blonde could recall. The double beds stopped arguments of sleeping arrangements or award situations for that matter and for the most part he remembered that he had at least gotten his make-up and shoes off before crashing on the bed. From there he just remember darkness, a sign he was out cold and sleeping pretty hard. It was the sort of sleep that would’ve kept him out well into the afternoon hours of the next day; however, it would seem that this round he would not be sleeping that late.

His stirring started with the sensation of falling, but he would remain down and with his eyes closed for a moment longer as his mind got a strange jolt. Memories from Tamiki’s time with Sharaku’s would flood and mix with his own making for the usual disorienting affair that occurred when the twins became a whole, but wait a minute....Why was that occurring? Tamiki was at home and no where nearby and while it was true that Rika did get drunk that had never been a cause for them to join up again to recover. In fact, he was good for at least a day or two if nothing worse happened to him that would force him to have to go back to being one again. So what and how was this?

That was confusion number one. Confusion number two came from the voice that pierced his sleep. He recognized the voice as Sharaku’s, but...he was calling him sunshine? Why was he doing that again? But more importantly than that where was Jezz that he was on something a harder than the bed? Had he fallen on the floor and the thud woke the other up and in turn prompted him to wake him in such a fashion? Huh...welp time to open the eyes and see what was going?

As the words were heard, the being known as Jezabella would stir in his sleep. He still wore the blue dress from the night before, but there was something very strange about him at the moment. Instead of a blonde with dark skin, Sharaku would fine himself looking at a male with hair that was a deep shade of violet. So deep it looked black without proper lighting. On top of this, the male before him had lightly tanned skin making him much fairer than before and instead of golden eyes they would be blue. It was an odd appearance change, but it seemed that the creature had not caught on yet as he groaned a bit as he sleepily pushed himself off the ground and onto his knees before falling back a bit to sit on his butt as he blinked trying to get his bearings. He had a mild headache from the drinking, but that was okay. He could wade through that easily enough….provided no buttons were pushed along the way.

From his position on the ground, he would rub his eyes a bit as he yawned. “Mew. Mew Shaku,” he would respond back in sleepy tones seeming to be as weird as ever as he shook his head a bit and looked around. A world bathe in odd blue light, a grassy area surrounded by rainbow plant life, giant glowing mushrooms, and crystal like fruit in the trees. Hehe. What a pretty place. It was almost like his own wonderland in his head except this one was missing the random and bizarre creatures of his land...and the dark twist, but that was okay. To each land their own.

Mhmm...Whoa, wait!

The creature had been looking around with a happy smile on his face seeming to be accepting it all until relaity snapped into play and that smile crumpled and became confusion and worry.

“Where the hell…?” he would begin looking around a bit panicked until his eyes landed on Sharaku. “Where are we and how did we get here?” he would ask before becoming quiet to get back on his feet. Despite the wobble to regain balance, Jezz noticed a few things 1) he had shoes on somehow and 2) this place felt too real. And as odd as he could be he did not like this for the sole reason that it made it that much harder for him to separate fantasy from reality….Oh boy….He did not need something messing with his head like that and add onto problems he already had.

Feeling highly uncomfortable and a bit distressed, he would take a step towards Sharaku the only thing he felt might be safe in this place as he looked around a bit more rubbing his right arm unconsciously as he tried to stay calm despite the look of worry on his face. “Please tell me this is a weird ass dream that somehow came from drinking one too many glasses.” Please let this be a dream….cause if it was a reality? Well...He guess that was okay. At least he had proof he was not mad when he stated the world of the imagination was real. Though he wouldn’t be taking home proof or this or even trying to find ways back here if he couldn’t get out of the place...and there certainly didn’t seem to be an exit in sight as blue eyes looked around the place. This realization only made his nerves increase as he looked around with a cautious yet curious eyes.

OoC:
This look is temporary for now and will change next post. Current look: Here, but imagine him the blue dress from the night before.

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Sharaku on Sun Nov 20, 2016 9:35 am

Well, the response he got definitely didn’t make him stare any less. It didn’t exactly help that he wasn’t sure who exactly he was dealing with at the moment, thanks to the looks, and when said someone decided to make kitty sounds at him, he kind of...just blanked. Too much nonsense happening at once for his liking, even though he wasn’t specifically bothered by this weird land existing. ‘’Meow?’’ Wait, no. He would just frown, looking back to the odd land for a moment. Maybe he was going cuckoo too, although he had a feeling that it wasn’t really the case here.

Spending a few moments pondering over the situation, he would eventually turn his attention back as his companion suddenly decided to start expressing concerns and whatnot. At which he would shrug nonchalantly. ‘’I have no idea.’’ He wished he did. But he certainly didn’t know what this place really was. However…maybe someone else would? Narrowing his eyes slightly, he would look off to somewhere unspecified again, or at the very least, it would seem that way due to their wildly plant-like surroundings which kind of blocked further vision at the moment. He did seem mildly bristled by something, but then he would simply sigh as he glanced back at the other. ‘’Do you want to go ask the neighbors?’’ Now, what did he mean by that? The other could certainly try to guess, or just outright ask him. It would come up eventually either way, unless they were to stay standing right here forever.

‘’I….don’t think it is. I’m pretty sure I’m completely sober at the moment anyway. Besides, if this was a dream, wouldn’t I just be a figment of your imagination in the first place? That said, do I know you?’’ Better be sure, cause he was mildly confused at the moment. Regardless, despite his joking thoughts of this being caused by drinks before, he severely doubted it. Unless he completely overdid it with them, to the point of it being really not good, the aftermath didn’t last him too long at all, so he was definitely not in any state of being out of reality right now. The reasons for that were something he wouldn’t bother explaining though, unless it somehow came up, as unnecessary as he would find the topic at the given moment.

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Sun Nov 20, 2016 12:15 pm

The blank look. Was that a surprise? Not really considering the guy seemed to be a pro at unexpectedly becoming even more unreadable than well unreadable! Even so Jezz didn’t seem too bothered, his mind still taking a bit to come out of the sleep haze and actually focus on reality. What did get him looking back at the other was the response he got back. He made a cat sound back? Jezz would raise his eyebrows slightly as he watched the other frown and look away. More amused than anything, he would giggle lightly at this before picking himself up and in turn coming back to reality.

At first he seemed rather panicked as he looked around the strange place; however, it seemed the more he stayed in the strangeness the more he just accepted it and settled. He was still uncomfortable, but at least the taller male didn’t have to worry about him panicking so much he was useless. So yay there.

Anyway, his eyes would drift to the other as he shrugged and gave his response to the question. To what was heard, the young man would sigh as his shoulders visibly slumped and he looked at the ground at first seeming distressed. “Man...and I bet Google Maps couldn’t find us either….” he would grumble a bit. Yeah another mystery. His phone. He was certain he had taken it out of the dress, but somehow it was back in the hidden zip pocket. Even so he wondered if he would even get a signal out here. It was tempting to look, but his hand did not move to his pocket as his down mode suddenly perked back up as he looked at the place again. “Well even in a strange land we can explore and hopefully find something interesting and a way back home.” Heh at least he tried to remain hopeful in the situation, but just as quickly as he became bubbly he would become serious as he noticed the other’s behavior when he was looking away. What was that all about and what did he mean by neighbors?

The young man would instinctively look around the area, but saw nothing outside of the foliage around them. Even so...he could sense that this place wasn't exactly deserted. He couldn’t be sure, but it felt like something else may be out there that was not the plants. Looking off towards the right, he would respond back. “I wonder if said neighbors are friendly.” His tone was soft and calm as he played easily off the words heard before he fell silent to listen to the sounds around him. Outside of that could not see or sense as far as perhaps the other if he was even using a form of sense at all or was perhaps just more keen at detecting things. Huh…”Though since you brought it up….are you suggesting you can sense something out there? Who are these neighbors?”

He would tilt his head curiously at the other, but whether the other would answer or not was another matter. While it was true Jezz could feel a presences in this place that went beyond the trees and what was seen, he was uncertain what sort of neighbors they had. After all this was a strange forested area that could hold a number of unknowns and while he could indeed sense life all around, he couldn’t pinpoint if it said life was hostile or not. Unlike the other his way of sensing was spirit related making it muddled to pick apart when in such a wild area with so much life in it. Only the dead would stick out to him in such a place. Anyway, the young man didn’t seem too eager to rush in either direction yet, so for the moment he would stay where he was his eyes drifting back to the other when he spoke again.

To his words, he would frown a bit before rubbing his head. “Eh...Well that...that is good to know I guess. And yeah…” he would give the other a sheepish look. “I dun think you wanna be anywhere near our dream world. We aren’t sure if we’d imagine as you are though…” he would trail off shaking his head a bit at that one as he looked away with a nervous laugh. Yeah, knowing his mind it would warp Sharaku into something quite frightening if they were in his wonderland. Welp a twisted mind was a twisted mind. That aside though, what was up with that last question?

Jezz’s eyes would snap back to the other. “Hm? Whadda mean do you know me?” he would begin a displeased on his face as he thought for two seconds that the other was trying to be funny. Honestly, he stuck out like a sore thumb no matter his form, so why did he question it if he had already seen him whole beforehand and knew him as separate pieces?  It was perplexing for sure and maybe he would’ve gone further if he hadn’t moved his hand which was still messing with his hair and notice the locks that flowed forward were not blonde. Eh?

His face would go blank as he held a handful of that dark hair for a moment and then slowly his eyes would drift to the hand caught in the hair. That was not dark colored skin. It was fair! Startled, he would move his hand from his hair to in front of face bring the other hand up for the ride. He would look between his hands and then in a bit of a panic check out the rest of himself. Fair skin, dark hair...what the hell was this? Panicked, he would quickly begin patting the dress desperately hunting for that hidden pocket. When he found what he sought, he would unzip the pocket and find the pocket mirror there. It took him a moment to get open due to shake hands, but once he did, he would freeze as he took in his face. Th-that was not his face! That couldn’t be real could it?

Lifting his left hand to his face, he would pinch a small portion of his face in a fashion that caused a small cut and in turn a bit of blood to appear on his face; however, he didn’t seem to care as the pain and blood confirmed that what he was seeing was not hallucination. He would shake his head slowly at this clearly disturbed. He was very much on the edge of flipping out even more so when his body decided to change from what he currently saw back to his regular self. The fair skin would darken again, his hair would become the two toned black and blonde that was a trade mark for him and his eyes would revert back to gold. The only thing missing was the usual make-up, but he could care less about make up as he watched his reflection for a moment visibly shaken by it all, but then quite unexpectedly the baffled look would shift to agitation and anger as his hand closed around the mirror with so much force it actually broke; however, as his hand dropped to his side, he would hardly take note of the pain or the blood as the pieces fell to the ground at his side.

Shake, he would look over at Sharaku with a drained and unstable expression. He was disoriented, but seemed to be using the man as a focus point to reground himself and calm down. “My name is….Jezabella….Of course you know us.” His voice was a bit shaky, but could one really blame him for being rattled by that? Yes, he knew he was strange, but he had never had that happened before so what was up with that and what did that say about this place if it was playing a factor in it all?

OoC:
Reference picture: Here He is back to this form and honestly I am gonna let this play out on its own. By the end his final form will be revealed.

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Sharaku on Sun Nov 20, 2016 5:42 pm

Sigh. Well no, he was not even counting on some applications finding them, and to be honest, he didn't really care about such at that moment. He doubted anything would be able to just tell them where an exit is, and even if, they would still have to manually walk there, which changes next to nothing, due to this being a completely unknown place. ‘’I didn’t really sign up for this though…’’ It was not how he liked to spend his mornings, and what could be interesting enough to make up for this unplanned trip anyway? At least, if the other meant items and the like, he couldn’t care less. This place was pretty to look at alright, but that wouldn’t mean he’d be extremely happy about being here. Maybe in a sarcastic way.

He would snort lightly as he stopped staring away for now. It wouldn’t be of much use right there and then, unless they decided to get a move on. As long as they stayed in place, it didn’t matter too much. ‘’You can try seeing for yourself, but I would say the chance is half and half.’’ Approximately, but since they were probably unexpected guests, he wasn’t sure whether friendly was a very viable option. No one likes random intruders, much less of different species. Regardless, there wouldn’t be a lot to tell sound-wise, and the other would at best hear a shuffle here and there from their current location. They weren’t close enough to pick up on much that way, unless they were to have a great sense of hearing. ‘’Demons. I can’t tell much more besides the fact that there are some nearby enough though.’’ Even then, it was only because he was used to the general presence of demons, making it easier for him to notice when some were suddenly around. Well, when he was in the state to pay attention to it, that is, but this place surely had weird effects in general, since he hadn’t really been trying.

Eh? ‘’I don’t think I’d mind either way.’’ He frankly didn’t quite care. Besides, if the other wanted to be in his head instead, he’d likely go insane. Regardless, he didn’t see the point of getting nervous and shifty about random things that didn’t even matter right now. Even if they did, he saw no problem with that, as it was only a speculation in the first place.

‘’Well, what do you think?’’, he would just cross his arms over his chest as he was questioned in return. The situation soon took an odd turn, but he wouldn’t really do anything in lieu of that, and just watch with a mild frown. He wasn’t very pleased by this. It was already enough of a problem that they were stuck here, and panicking over things would not help them get out. To be fair though, his way of viewing these matters was rather different, and he was simply utterly unbothered by this all. He wouldn’t see a point in freaking out if he suddenly looked different. Not really. It would certainly be an unusual sight, and perhaps not completely welcome, but not exactly a cause for having a breakdown or such. There was always some reason behind the things that were happening, so he would probably just focus his attention to figuring out why it was happening, instead of losing it on spot.

He did seem to be a bit more uptight than typically at this point though, so maybe it also had something to do with this world they were in.

‘’I hope you’re not going to break down on me.’’

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Mon Nov 21, 2016 8:02 pm

Well it seemed that Jezz wasn’t the only slightly peeved about being awoken in place where he did not fall asleep. While it was true he did try to make light of the situation despite it all, the other didn’t seem to share in either the joke that had passed when he complained or his attempt at being optimistic. Did this make the creature upset? Not really. Even though Jezz didn’t know the man well, the creature had gotten use to the serious air at this point and so let the behavior roll off of him. He did take note of the sigh, but would only give a small frown of understanding as he heard the words spoken. “Well that makes two of us,” Jezz would mutter back as he remained looking to the right, his eyes narrowing as a bit as he saw movement between that thick foliage. Was that perhaps a creature of this world or just the wind?

Eh? Maybe it didn’t matter considering whatever was causing the movement wasn’t making itself known for now, so locking it in the back of his head the creature would listen to the world a bit more taking notes of soft sounds, but being unable to hear like an animal, in this state, at least he couldn’t pick up much more; however, he did catch the snort and hear the words spoken.

“Hmph,” he would let out the amused sound as he finally pried his eyes from whatever he had been looking at and locked them back on the man with him. “Perhaps so, but it looks like we are going to have to meet them at some point since we kind of need to move to make progress. At least the odds are only half bad, so that is alright,” the blonde would respond back. Yeah...a strange world with unknown and probably even stranger residents. He could see them being hostile towards them considering they would be the intruders in this land.

That aside though, his amusement would end as the other answered his question. “Demons…” he would ponder that word. It sounded familiar to him and not in the sense that he knew the word from lore, but rather something within him recognized it as something more than just a label, but why that was he could not figure out. It was like the more he thought on it the more a cloud blocked it. It was strange, but he would push the oddness aside as he focused on the more important part of what was said. “Nearby huh? Do you think whichever direction is chosen we’d run into them?” he would ask as he looked first one way and then the other as he debated which way would be the best choice in the matter. Was there really a right choice at this point? Probably not, but even so it would be nice to know if they were going to be barreling into a large swarm of hostiles or not on the way.

That serious matter aside though, they would somehow get on the topic of worlds of the mind. To what was heard, Jezz would raise an eyebrow. “Heh. You swallow things a bit better than us then,” the creature would say, as he played with his hair a bit. It was true he was very curious and would approach things that caught his fancy. It was also true that the saying “curiosity killed the cat” applied heavily to him. He had gotten himself in many jams with the behavior, but much like a cat he was also very clever and got himself out of the jam again. Even so the many burns had taught him to be cautious when curious, so he was the sort of poked a bit at things before jumping headlong into the danger. He never questioned why he did things that way and for the most part never changed the behavior that had both punished and rewarded him over time. That aside, it would seem that the pairs’ reaction to the strange would only be further defined as a strange thing occurred with Jezz and his appearance.

While at first he was thoroughly confused at what the other was getting at with his comments and had even given him a confused tilt of the head, when the creature finally did notice what he was pointing out, the reaction was far from pretty as it took every ounce of willpower to not scream in agitation at the turn of events.

While he stood looking quite ruffled and unstable, he would continue to focus on Sharaku. Somehow by not having the other telling him to calm down or doing the usual things that came along with such a bizarre situation, the ruffle blonde would actually begin to calm a bit. Sure his shaking didn’t stop, but he was able to respond back to the other as he shook his head a bit.

“Nein...We are just...a bit tired of it all,” he would respond back as he shifted a bit in his spot not seeming to notice his bleeding hand as he drifted a bit closer to the other. “First breaking and fusing now shifting into faces we know not. It becomes...a bit agitating when you constantly change. We know we are us technically, but still...We would like to know why only we seem to not have a stable body…Everyone else seems to be one, but us?” He would sigh a bit as he drift past the other seeming to head towards the left however, he didn’t get far before stopping as another strange thing occurred. It came in the form of a voice.

“If you want the truth then perhaps you can find it here, if you are willing to look for it,” the voice was male and seemed a bit low and hoarse, but where did it come from the creature did not know and so would stop in his tracks to turn slightly towards Sharaku.

“Eh?” he would begin as he looked at the man not in the mood for games at the moment; however, he would soon find his eyes shifting from Sharaku to something coming out of the forest from the south. What he found coming towards them was a very short and strange being dressed in beige clothing and a wearing blue cape and matching hat. Most of the being’s face was covered by the high collar of its cloak and the wide brim hat that it wore. The creature held a strange broken looking staff in its right hand and on its shoulder rode a small white two tailed fox. The pair would come near them before coming to a stop a safe distance away.

“I have been looking for you, my friend, but I did not expect you to show up in such a broken form or with...peculiar company.” That voice from before seemed to belong to this odd being with the fox. Okay that mystery solved, but now there were many others.

While the fox wagged its tails and looked at the pair happily, the being it rode on would eye Sharaku with suspicion as its eyes narrowed a bit as it seemed to pick up on something that Jezz did not quite understand; however, he could care less about the staring at this point as he frowned highly displeased at this new thing.

“Who are you? And why are you calling me friend?” Jezz would ask clearly not understanding this. He had never met this creature before, so what was this about?

The strange being would watch the taller male for a second longer before blinking and looking over at Jezz.

“My name is Helix and this is Hyacintha,” he would say leaning his head slightly towards the fox who with a strange purring sound nuzzled the guy back. Not seeming to be phased by the love, the shorter being would continue. “And it is not the you now I speak to when I say ‘friend’, but rather the you you have forgotten you are,” he would say and then seeing the questioning look on Jezz’s distressed face, he would hold up a gloved hand. “Do not worry. The details will be clear soon enough. For now, just know we are here to aid you both in this strange land.” He would finish before falling silent and took to observing them.

Jezz, on the other hand, would narrow his eyes at this as clear confusion and agitation washed across his otherwise pretty face. He wanted to say so much to the situation and for two seconds he looked like he might really flip out, but then surprisingly, he would let out a held breath as he looked over at Sharaku looking more like a wilted flower as stormy eyes clearly hinted at his bad mood.

“...I just pray I won’t be asking you to kill me before this all over…” he would say and then gesturing quietly to Sharaku more so than the creatures, he would begin to head down the left path.

We’re finally moving? Oh good::
So going to the left here. So 6 up, placing us in the upper corner on the lower part of the map.

OoC::
Note: Helix and Hyacinth are summons, but follow behind outside of battle. Helix seems to know what is going on with Jezz, so if asked he may share information. The creature is an oddity, but doesn’t seem to be lying when he says they are there to help. Since Sharaku is an unknown to him he watches him a bit more, but for the most part is pretty chilled about his presence.

Jezz: He is in a bad mood and just wants to figure out what the hell is going on with himself and get out of the pretty place that is turning nightmarish for him. Headache from slight hang over is not helping much in the matter either. The beautiful thing is that despite the bad mood, he is not snapping or wigging out, so maybe he is just reluctantly accepting the madness.

Other notes: This is your world Mama, so we are playing by your rules and what you show us. Helix is there to help with story on Jezz’s end, but much like him doesn’t know the world. He just knows the solution to the problem for Jezz’s unstableness is here cause he can sense it. Now how the creature ended up here when he too is foreign thing here? Well it is a mystery unless you question Helix who may or may not give you an answer.

Question: Do we...have Shadow Accel here?

Re: Land of Mystery

Well, it was what it was. They could complain all they wanted, but that would obviously not grant their wishes and simply teleport them out of here. Nice dream, but one that was extremely unlikely to come true. It wasn’t really that he wasn’t willing to be an optimist, but he just couldn’t some up with anything to say when hearing such words. What do you do, agree? Even though it’s all just a bunch of wishful thinking being thrown around anyway, and not really all that useful in the end. ‘’At least it isn’t a disgusting wasteland of sorts, I suppose…’’ They could have always fallen somewhere horrible, compared to what this seemed to be. Not that this was guaranteed to be a nice place, but at the very least, it didn’t give an extremely creepy vibe right away.

Tsk. Right. So, they would. Not something he was very happy about at that moment, but what can one do? He would roll his eyes in mild jest. ‘’Very exciting indeed. Maybe we ought to try asking them to have a tea party with us.’’ And utterly fail, unless they were in some overly twisted place where demons were cuddly and wanted to play with newcomers instead of killing or eating them. One can wish though, but it’s probably better to not expect too much greatness in such a situation. Maybe there would be some that would not attack right away, but he was more inclined to believe they would end up being viewed as prey more often than not.

‘’I’m not sure. But it’s likely, seeing as they would probably take notice of us sooner or later themselves. Besides, I can’t tell just how many are around here. I can only tell that there are at least some, because I am used to their presence enough to do that.’’ These kinds of beings do stand out in their own way, and if you know what to look for, it’s not too hard to notice them. Usually. Still, that was pretty much that for now, since he wasn’t an expert on them beyond that. On top of that, his sense of direction wasn’t the best ever, therefore making prediction about safe or not safe routes wasn’t something he was eager to dabble in. Likely, he wouldn’t be very successful with his guesses, were he to try.

He would scratch his cheek lightly. ‘’There is nothing bad enough that it cannot be even worse. I take things as they are, and unless they prove that they are something to worry about excessively, I just don’t. It’s a waste of energy and sanity to fret about something I have no personal experience with yet. If it isn’t something I know I would be bad at for sure, at least.’’ And perhaps it just wasn’t in his nature to be too fussy over things. Not to say that he would never be, but if it did not breach into territory he was unsure about to begin with, he usually just took it without much ado.

Moving on through strange happenings though….

He would tilt his head slightly. ‘’You didn’t seem to be that bothered by your state before this happened. Besides, at least you’re keeping within the realms of looking human. I’d be more worried if you started turning into random animals and beasts.’’ Outside of that, he really couldn’t tell too much, since he didn’t even know what the guy was. He would guess not human though, so why was it such a mystery? People normally did have one stable body, yes, but when you aren’t exactly human yourself, there is no saying you ought to be just like them, is there? ‘’You are not like everyone else though, are you? I think we already established you aren’t a normal human, so I can’t say whether it is too farfetched for you to simply be different.’’, he would shrug lightly. What did he know though?

Speaking of differences, it would appear that their solitude would decide to go on vacation right after that conversation. ‘’What?’’, he would just retort when they guy turned to him. He didn’t know any better himself right now. That said, he would stay relatively quiet as he watched the disturbance in the form of unknown creatures butt in at random. He wouldn’t say he was too pleased by that, but he wouldn’t move to do anything about it for now. He would tough stare back with slightly narrowed eyes when he was being observed like an unknown object.

‘’What exactly am I being dragged into now….?’’ He didn’t understand what was going on, and being here was odd enough on its own, without the entrance of mysterious helpers, so to say. He would sigh faintly when he heard the last line said. ‘’Don’t look at me. I’m not interested in being a killer just because.’’ At least not like that, and not for a petty sounding reason. Regardless, he would walk along for now, looking around in thought. The scenery didn’t change all that much yet, as they proceeded to wade through decently thick vegetation here and there, but at the very least, it was possible to make out a route to follow…

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Tue Nov 22, 2016 9:21 pm

“That would be an unfortunate turn events if it were,” Jezz would agree as he absent-mindedly let his eyes drift across the area. It was pretty and definitely a bit more friendly on the mind than something more twisted. Even so, the young man could not help, but wonder what sort of things were hiding under such pretty and flashy scenery. He couldn’t be sure, but usually the flashy and colorful in nature often served as warning signals to something dangerous. So while he did try to keep an optimistic outlook on it all, he did not just blindly accept all this or ignore what he was seeing. He would remain cautious in this new land until something occurred that proved he could drop his guard and relax.

Caution aside though, it would seem that when the other made his poke at the whole neighbor’s bit, Jezz would actually grin as his eyes seemed to light up with excitement. “Ooo! A tea party! That sounds divine,” he would say as quietly clapped his hands much like a little kid all too excited about something good. Then looking up a bit he would tap his lip with the index finger of his left hand. “I wonder if I should pull out the good set of china for it and what of the tea and food…” Was he seriously considering a tea party right now? It was hard to tell at first, but then the young man would look at Sharaku as the excitement became a pout. “Though I dun wanna waste my good china or food on something that would probably just make a mess of the whole thing,” he would say with a light huff as his attitude shifted from bubbly to more serious in a flash. Despite that though, he did give a playful wink at the end of it all, showing that the whole thing was play….or at least a good portion of it was. It was always uncertain what Jezz considered to be a good place for a real tea party after all.

Random information, peculiarities, and jokes aside the playful young man would soon come down off his happy bubble and refocus on the reality that was currently their world and the very real threat that were the demons that resided here.

“I see. Well no surprise there considering this seems to be a real place and in turn inhabited by things more than likely hostile to outsiders...” Jezz would say and then tilting his head a bit at the other he would continue. “Been around them a lot?” he would ask curious about this one’s backstory and in turn what he may actually be dealing with. Was this guy simply someone who had maybe just dealt with demons and in turn knew how to sense them? Or was this ability stating something else about the man? Curious, curious.

Anywho...

“True. There is always worse,” he would begin as he gave the other a small smile and then hearing the rest he would become serious once more. “You are definitely more chilled about these things than us. We aren’t fretting per se, but we would be lying if we said we just went with the flow easily when it comes to these things.” Yes he was curious and even strange himself, but even so he always poked at the odd a bit himself before actually becoming comfortable with it. While strange worlds and even strange creatures were fine and all, it seemed that too much of the strange was not a good thing to shove down Jezz's throat so quickly as demonstrated by the blonde’s mood quickly going down hill as one strange thing after the other occurred.

First the form change issue….

“We grew up knowing we could break and fuse...though not always by choice which has always been a head scratcher along with other things. When you’ve dealt with this 20 ish years like us, it becomes normal even when it is not, but changing into something completely different like that and without warning? We don’t exactly like that and honestly it is concerning. Out of the box things like that usually signals something is wrong with us….like in a bad way and we don’t know what it means because this is the first of occurrence of us shifting that dramatically. It... bugs us. Beast or not...we don’t think it is normal for even us to do such a shift...we don’t think….” the creature would say with a frown. It would seem there were even things about itself that Jezz did not know, but why was that? He pondered that just for a moment before looking back up at the other when he spoke.

“Well, no we aren’t. We are….” The creature would sigh a bit at this one knowing there was no way around it. “We are not human in the normal sense. We were made... though of what we are not sure and maybe you are right. Maybe we are meant to be different and maybe what happened there is normal. We honestly don’t know. We try to figure it out sometimes ourselves, but it is like...something is always missing…It is a bit frustrating honestly...” They said only you knew yourself right? So why was it when it came down to it he felt as if he knew nothing about himself at all? Like everything he thought he knew was fake and the real him was lost somewhere? It didn’t make sense and nothing would seem to clear up as things continued to get stranger.

To the other’s inquiry, Jezabella was about to say something more, but around the time the very thing that had made him speak to begin with showed itself. To the chatter that occurred, Jezz would respond with confusion and then later silence as the taller male and the shorter wizard like creature had a stare off with each other. He wondered if that was going to be a problem…Maybe or maybe not considering after a few moments, the suspicious stare would end as the eyes of the wizard softened a bit as he relaxed slightly as he seemed to find something within the man that settled some unknown matter. That aside though, the wizard wouldn’t make too much of a fuss as he moved his attention from the tall man to the world around them.

Seeing that the rough spot seemed to pass by and the new arrivals decided to tag along, Jezabella would reluctantly accept the new oddness before turning to move on. He would hear Sharaku’s words and respond back.. “Don’t fuckin’ know man…” he would say as he moved along being careful not to get his dress caught on the foliage as he moved along the path, the plants thick and colorful. As he moved along, the wizard would trail behind them with the fox.

"You wouldn't kill us if we were a threat then?" Jezz would ask knowing that if he were to truly snap that would be problematic for a multitude of reasons. In any case, he would become quiet
quiet after that as he watched the path ahead.

Meanwhile Helix would continue to quietly observe the two he was with, taking notes for some unknown reason. He didn’t seem to be comfortable with the taller male for unknown reasons and so remained tensed until Hyacintha made a light "hmph" sound on his shoulder before fluffing and hopping off. At first Helix thought she was going to walk on her own, but oh no. She had to do something that was probably dangerous.

She would hop right along the path until she neared the taller man and then without losing speed, she would hop and latch on to his pant leg and then from there climb up the other until she was at his shoulder. If the man allowed it without any negative reaction, he would find that the fox was super light and outside of light tugging wasn’t really that noticeable in her climbing.

If she did manage to make it his shoulder, she would rest on his shoulder tilting her nose upward to sniff lightly at his earring and trailing hair. She didn’t seem to be trying to harm him as she curiously examined him unafraid. Helix, on the other hand, used all of his will power to not react rashly to this this rather risky gamble. This could go rather badly for the little fox, but he might make the end result even worse if he was to react. So holding himself back he would watch for now.

Meanwhile Jezz would continue to move down the path he could make out pausing only to fight with his dress a bit to get it unsnagged. He would wiggle free, but find himself tensing up as he looked up and found himself unexpectedly face-to-face with the demons Sharaku spoke of

As they came in contact with the creatures, Hyacintha would fluff up as she tensed on Sharaku’s shoulder as her tails flicked, perparing for anything. Not exactly ready for a fight or wanting to fight, Jezz would take a step back quiet nervous.

“You are no coward my friend. Hold your ground and fight. Try to remember yourself,” Helix’s voice would come from Jezabella’s side and while golden eyes did look at the smaller male, he wasn’t buying those words as he took a second step back. He didn’t want to fight...He couldn’t….

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Sharaku on Wed Nov 23, 2016 5:04 pm

Unfortunate in a way indeed. Though, maybe it wouldn’t be that much worse than it already is. The scenery is technically only a visual issue, so it may not even affect anything else aside from determining how pleasing the surroundings are to your sight. ‘’Probably so…’’ Who knows how much worse would it really have been. Speaking of how pleasing things are…what was even up with the tea thing now? It felt like he had unintentionally started something weird. Mildly unsure what to think of the commentary he got in return, he would blink a few times, raising an eyebrow at the other. ‘’Do you have some sort of wonder bag with handy items? Or should I just assume you’re crazy enough to randomly carry china and food with you everywhere?’’ He did seem amused enough though, despite not really getting the sudden hype. In all honesty, he would probably decline the tea if there ever was an actual opportunity to dine with demons like that. Unless he knew they were truly friendly, which can be hard to prove.

He would shrug lightly. ‘’It is a pain though. Unless you’re super tough. Can you fight them?’’ It wouldn’t be too bad if they could just fight the hostile demons off, but in case it wouldn’t be a possibility, then trouble was bound to catch up to them pretty fast. For all they knew, there could be a lot of them, and running is not always an option. ‘’You could say that. I used to in the past. Haven’t come across any for a while though. Well, until now, apparently.’’ He didn’t seek them out just because, and those he knew before weren’t at the place he was staying at now. It’s one of the banes of traveling after all.

Was he…? Well, maybe so. ‘’I suppose I’m just not bothered by oddness easily. For as long as it isn’t threatening me somehow.’’ He usually didn’t go past a bit of frowning when it came to strange things happening and all, unless they were impacting him in a rather negative way right off the bat. He would defend himself if need be, of course, but when it was not necessary, he tended to not waste more energy than it was worth.

‘’You seem to be doing pretty well to me. As long as you aren’t incapable of moving forward, you can just look for reasons as to why it is happening. It may be unusual, but flipping out over it too soon won’t really solve anything…’’ It’s not like the guy was hurting or something truly bad right now, outside of that weird occurrence. It didn’t seem to be doing a lot of harm, which meant it wasn’t as bad as it potentially could be. Regardless, he would give the other a somewhat thoughtful look at the explanation given next, but he would not get the time to respond to that due to uninvited visitors taking the spotlight right after. Ah well. What can you do?

And apparently one of them didn’t really like him for some unknown reason, but he would pass over that for now. It’s not like he was being attacked after all, and the demons around sounded more worrisome than this anyway. ‘’Now that’s what I call words of wisdom.’’, he would snort, giving a sarcastic comment to the response he got to his inquiry about the situation. Regardless, he would follow after, seeing as there was currently no other safer choice to take. He would shrug vaguely. ‘’Eh, I prefer not to resort to that with those I already know, or if they don't seem truly bad. Knocking someone out sounds less drastic than outright killing them.’’ Why would he? Of course, it may be necessary at times, but you will never know whether it truly is or isn’t if you just go for the killing blow right away without giving it some time, will you? Such an odd question…

Moving on though, he would remain mostly quiet, until another disturbance popped up. ‘’?’’ He would stop for a bit, glancing over his shoulder momentarily with an odd look as the fox decided to use him as a climbing pole. He was slightly confused, but he wouldn’t do too much, only reaching out to poke the small animal slightly with a finger once it was on his shoulder. ‘’Hmmm…..’’ This was getting weirder by the minute. And the trend would not stop, as they would soon come across the biggest issue of this place. Frowning slightly, he would shift his attention to the two large snake demons eyeing them. So much fun. He would scoff faintly as they hissed at them, shooting them a narrowed look. It didn’t seem like they would get along well, but the scaly beasts didn’t appear to be all that interested in biting him either, focusing more towards the rest of the small travel group.

Sharaku would proceed to glance between the demons and his companions, taking note of the odd behavior displayed, before just stepping back a bit. ‘’Well, isn’t this too bad? They’re all yours. If you really need me to join the fight though, let me know.’’ He would rather not dabble in it too much, but if he really had to…

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Fri Nov 25, 2016 11:34 pm

Disgusting wastelands or a fantasy forest of beauty. Which would be the worse as far as hazards and trouble went, it was hard to tell and to be honest Jezz didn’t think either would be favorable to him at the moment. Yes, his footwear was thankfully not heels or bare feet, but being in a relatively long dress posed problems on its own. He might get a bit tangled for one thing and for another he would probably end up getting a bit weighed down if this place proved to be one where they would be getting wet in any fashion. Yeah...maybe he should remember next time to opt for fashionable, but easy to move in dresses just in case he ended up in a bizarre situation as this again.

“Mmm.” That was the only response the man would get to his short answer as the blonde continued to look around the area they were in. He would focus on one of the crystal like fruit on the trees around them and wonder for a moment if they were edible or not; however, for the moment he would do nothing to find out the truth of the matter as his attention was drawn back to the other as he mentioned a tea party.

To his unexpected display of pleasure, Jezz got an expected reaction of confusion and a look that always seemed to ask if he was sane or not without ever saying anything; however, the words that followed were not so typical. To what he heard, Jezz would give Sharaku a small  =o face as he tilted his head slightly surprised for a few seconds that the other had actually played along, but then the blonde was grinning as he swayed in his spot and patted his dress.

“We don’t have our basket with us and while we do have pockets, we unfortunately haven’t upgraded them to make them magical yet,” he would say playing along a bit before pausing a bit as his hand moved to his hair and he began to twirl one lock around his finger as he looked around the area his expression serious. “We don’t typically carry such things unless we planned to have a nice outing. This place is pretty, so it could be a good spot to relax; however, with it being unknown we have to deem it safe first if we want tea or any other form of party here.”….Seriously? What sort of logic was Jezz working on. Was he even working on logic at all? Was he even serious about considering this place as somewhere to have a nice tea party in? The former couldn’t be answered, but….the latter seemed to be a bit true if the serious expression on his face could be trusted.

That light-hearted matter aside, let’s move onto something a bit more serious like the probability of actually fighting demons. As the subject came up, Jezz would shift his weight to his left as he rubbed his arm slightly and looked off to the side a bit uncomfortable.

“Fight?” he’d repeat. The word alone seeming to make him flinch, but he continued despite his discomfort. “We can fight and kill humans if need be, but honestly we don’t recall if we can fight demons. In fact, this is the first time we think we’ve been into a place with them. Odd worlds are one thing, but our targets have always been human in nature even when displaying odd powers,” he would respond back honestly. He honestly couldn’t remember having to fight demons...and yet that strange sensation like this was something he was familiar with was there, but why? He would be quiet for a moment as he stared off with a perplexed frown before his eyes would return to the other as he answered his question about being around demons.

“Is that so?” he would say observing the other for a few seconds before letting out a light sigh as he shifted in his spot to move. “If we get out of this...we would like to hear more of your story if you don’t mind it.” The creature had many questions for the other, but...now was probably not the right time to dig to deeply into that, so perhaps it was better to save such chatter for when they were safer and actually had nothing to be concerned about.

“Hmph.” Jezz would let out the light sound of amusement as a small smile came across his face. “You make things seem so easy and simple when you speak like that. Too bad, my mind doesn’t work like that, so I may wig out if things get stranger.” It was true. While Jezz could handle the weird that did not change the fact that he would show much of how he felt on the surface. It took his mind a while to settle into the fact that he was okay more or less and in turn calm down. If he had been alone the process would’ve taken longer, but by some strange stroke of luck he was paired up with someone who had a personality and mindset that countered his anxiety and panic in the situation.

Regardless of the good turn of events, things would become a bit strained as the blonde was placed through more oddness and in turn end up in a rather foul state of mind as confusion mixed with distress.

Despite the mood change or the fact that they got two tag alongs, Jezz would manage to get his words out and even begin to move along despite how horrible he was feeling due to the situation he did not understand. As he moved he would hear, Sharaku’s words and he would chuckle darkly.

“That is easy to say and honestly...I don’t know what can be defined as well at this point. Yes I am still here, moving and perhaps sane, but that doesn’t change that I feel pretty shitty,” he would say and then shaking his head he would look over at the other giving him an apologetic smile. “Sorry. We shouldn’t be taking the matter out on you. Just…” he would take a breathe and sigh as he shook his head. “Nevermind,” he would eventually say softly. He would try to push away his uneasiness and be a bit more hopeful again. “You’re right on the matter of having to move forward though. We do need to do that in order to escape and maybe we can find the truth of the matter like the wizard guy said. I just...don’t know anymore….” the blonde would say as he ran a hand through his hair accidentally knocking the peacock clip out of his hair. As he kept moving, he didn’t notice it fall to the ground. It was true, he wasn’t hurting per se, but he was beginning to feel sick though whether that from being distressed, the place, or the shift to some other form from before was uncertain. At least for now, he could still move, so despite it all he would push forward with the trio following behind.

To the sarcastic remark, he would give a light snort. “Oh you have no idea how wise I can be,” the blonde would respond back the words dry with a sarcastic hint to them. Despite the tone, he wasn’t mad....too drained to be mad to be honest, so he let the words roll off of him this round as he kept going. To the words on killing, Jezz would stay quiet for a bit as he considered what was said.  Then with a bit of hesitation he would speak. “....We’ve never considered knocking someone unconscious or giving a second chance to those deemed as a threat…” No. He had been trained to destroy completely what was considered a threat. Though he had to wonder if he had took a less final route what would those targets be like today? Would they have changed? End up dead anyway due to continuing their paths? He wondered, but would never know the answer to the questio since all of his targets were no longer in a position for second chances.

“....” It would seem the words had placed the blonde in a deep state of thought keeping him quiet and too himself for the time being, but perhaps the other with him wouldn’t mind considering that the the furrier of the the two creatures decided to go ahead and test Lady Luck by climbing on the taller male. While this worried her cloaked companion, Helix would find himself reconsidering the other as he watched the reaction between the pair.

The man allowed Hyacintha to get on his shoulder and poked her lightly. In response to the poke, the fox would make a light mew sound as she fluffed and snuggled into his neck with a light purr. It was odd seeing Hyacintha being so friendly with a stranger, but maybe that was her way of letting her companion know the guy was okay. Helix was unsure, but at the same time the odd show of affection did make him curious of the fellow. Maybe he was being too cautious. It was hard to say and even harder to say when actual conflict did occur.

As Helix and Hyacintha prepared for a fight, Jezz was so not liking the situation as he took a third step back. He didn’t care what that wizard dude said. He was not fighting snakes that were so ridiculously huge. Look at those fangs and the size of those maws. Yeah. Nope. He was not about to be eaten...Besides what the hell was he suppose to do? He could kill humans yes and yes he did display some odd abilities, but he highly doubt fusing and birds would help him here. He would need to be able to fight back, but didn’t have a way to do that and what? What was Sharaku saying?

“W-wait what?” He would glance back at the other taking note that he was kind of not stepping up to the plate to fight and instead was saying he would step in if he really needed him? “You can’t be serious. I can’t fight them!” The blonde was clearly terrified of the prospect and found this whole thing ludicrous even by his standards. He needed to ---Eh?

His eyes would turn back to the snakes as they actually spoke to him, the words making him go pale.

"F-food?” he would mutter back and then unable to take it anymore, he would simply collapse into a sitting position. His mind was whirling and panic was gripping him from all over making him unable to figure out what he was suppose to do.

“He’s fallen deeper into forgetfulness than we thought, a soft feminine voice would come from Sharaku’s shoulder as the foxed revealed she could speak even though her lips did not move. She would hop down from the taller man’s shoulder and then looking up at him with big eyes she continued. “I do not know who you are, but I sense that perhaps you may have a good heart and be here for a reason. Though whatever that reason is can you do me the favor and not leave his side. Myself and Helix has some work to do when it comes to him...and he may need stable pillar through it all….So please, don't abandon him, yes?" She would become quiet and wait to see if he would answer and then answered or not, she would refocus on the problem at hand as she moved towards Jezz who was still down and seeming beyond distressed.

Meanwhile, Helix would narrow his eyes at the snakes unafraid despite the fact that they were nearly twice his size.

“Pull yourself together. You can fight back. Just remember how to do it!” he growled at Jezz, but the blonde seemed to be in a daze at this point and not listening. “Damn!”

This was agitating, but the wizard couldn’t let the other just get eaten either. Even so...he couldn’t exactly do much without the other working in sync with himself and Hyacintha thanks to the rules the Higher Spirits had in play. It made what he could do on his own very limited, but there was one thing he could do for now. As for the rest? Well he would just have to pray that the blonde would pick himself up again and actually remember who he was. Even if it was just the fragment that reminded him he could actually fight and how to do it would be enough now. If the blonde didn’t pull through, they may very well be screwed….and that was unacceptable.

So praying for a better outcome, Helix would cast a spell on the snake before him to see if they could get a reading on the creature….

Re: Land of Mystery

An odd talk in an odd place, that’s for sure. ‘’Do you party out in forests often?’’ Sounded like it could get uncomfortable pretty quick. You never know what you can come across outside, or sometimes things come to you instead. Besides, it’s not nice to cause a mess out there, is it? Regardless, the point of tea parties was largely moot at that moment anyway.

He would give the blonde a somewhat puzzled look. ‘’If you’re okay with killing humans, what makes the idea of demons so different?’’ Sure, they were different beings, but a fight is a fight in the end. You may require a different strategy, but if you already know how to fight in general, it’s definitely not as bad as if you were starting from the bottom up. Although, humans may be easier to get rid of, that much is true.

‘’So it is.’’, he would sigh faintly. He wasn’t too keen on talking about that, but he probably wouldn’t have a choice either way. Not with them being in a place like this to begin with. It just spelled trouble, and it’s not like he could pretend he wasn’t here the whole time, even when faced with some demons. ‘’Maybe. I’ll see about that. Though, considering our situation, I probably won’t be able to get out of this….’’ Unless he just went and ignored all the questions that may come up, but that wouldn’t help anything, would It now?

Maybe? He would shrug nonchalantly. ‘’It’s how I am. Besides, I don’t like the idea of looking like a kid who’s about to piss their pants for no real reason. If I am to make a fool of myself, I’d rather do it on a good purpose, not by losing it at the wrong time.’’ It’s pretty awkward if you freak out like you’re dying or something, and then nothing comes out of that at all, since you basically just overreacted. In all honesty, he found a good deal of freak outs simply silly. A lot of people don’t know how to tone it down, and make a racket bigger than necessary pretty much on purpose. Can be a major headache to deal with at times.

Moving on though….

He would huff faintly. ‘’I’m not really affected by it, so you can talk all you want if you wish. I have no answers though.’’ Nor did he have anything smart to say to that. He probably wouldn’t understand well either way, since he didn’t get this distressed very easily. Not normally, at least. Yes, it was a weird thing…but, doesn’t worrying about it too much and all that only make it seem worse than it may be in reality? Pick it apart too much, and it will definitely look more like ultimate doomsday, seeing as you have no answers just yet. Which means you’re only digging yourself deeper in by doing that, rather than making things better.

‘’Right.’’ Not that wisdom was going to be of any real help here. Unless it truly on point. Regardless, he would raise an eyebrow slightly when the remark about second chances came in. ‘’Why not? You can never know why they were a threat to begin with. Could have just been forced to take orders from someone or the like, rather than it being their own choice.’’ There are people who do bad things because they are told do after all, and it’s not something you’d know just by looking at them. Besides, once you knock them out, they won’t be able to do much right away when they wake up again. If you wanted to, you could even tie them up and then question them to decide whether you ought to get rid of them or let them live. There are plenty ways to go about it.

Wherever that went though, he would soon get distracted by the little fox wanting a ride for some unknown reason. ‘’Hm….???’’ What was he, a snuggle pillow now? He had absolutely no idea as to why didn’t she just stay with her friend instead of coming up to him, but he wouldn’t get a lot of time to ponder over that, sadly. Not with them walking headfirst into a pair of snake demons soon after. How unfortunate.

‘’How do you know that without even trying?’’ This guy was being mildly confusing. Seemed quite fine with killing humans and whatnot, but was being a coward when faced with some demons without even knowing whether they were a big threat or not. Yes, they were big, but so what? As the saying goes, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Besides, size doesn’t have to be relative to power at all. Before he could say more though, he would be distracted by the fox speaking up. Eh? ‘’I don’t plan on leaving. The demons can be bothersome, but there are way worse things in life to be facing.’’ It’s not like he knew this place anyway, so he had nowhere to go. Of course, he could go, but would probably just end up getting lost, and while he wasn’t all that afraid of demons, he did not want to risk it that much.

For now, he would proceed to watch this unfold….

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Sun Nov 27, 2016 10:49 am

Jezz would fold his arms as his left hand curled a bit to cup his chin. “Hmm. Well, we do not usually chose forests for various reasons. We like open fields better, but even so this place seems pretty enough to spend some time observing over tea.” It was true the area was very appealing to the eye and being one to not mind sitting on a blanket outside provide the weather was good and the area safe, Jezz was not lying as he seemed to consider the area as a candidate for tea or an outing. His eyes would hold happiness for a few brief moments and then the look would crumple into seriousness as his mind settled on the reality of the matter. “Even so, it is not like I can map this place out and in turn find it again. On top of that, we are not even sure this place is safe or the best spot to have tea in. So many unknowns make it quite tricky to say yes or no to this eye candy,” he would say as he turned to the other just in time to see the puzzled look he was giving him thanks to some earlier words. To what he heard, the blonde would frown a bit.

“....Humans are easy to kill if you can get around their defenses and effort to fight back. There is no guess work as to what can kill them. However, demons….” the blonde would break off a bit troubled as some part of him shifted and stirred. What was that? Unconsciously, his hand went to the center of his chest where the greatest pressure from that stir was felt; however, he didn’t seem to pay the action any mind as he kept his eyes down cast as he shook his head. “...They are an unknown. We do not know what kills them and even if we are non-human, we do not believe we have any power to face them….So naturally we hesitate to go to face them.” That was very uncomfortable to admit considering he was usually pretty confident when it came to fighting enemies. Regardless of that, it seemed the other was also in a bit of an uncomfortable spot too as he poked a bit at the man’s experience with demons.

As he heard the responses, he would give the other a small smile of understanding. “We suppose that all depends on what happens….Though we do have a question in regards to your experience with demons. Since we were talking about it earlier...Can you fight demons?” A valid question considering if they were to run into trouble, he would like to know if this one would fight to defend himself or both of them if he failed to be unable to fight demons. Or perhaps the taller male would be something to be concerned about protecting alongside his own life in this bizarre place. Well, however that was answered, the topic would move on.

To this next topic Jezz would give the other a somewhat bitter smile. “Then perhaps you can be strong for us both 'cause we do not think we can get out of this ordeal without crying or panicking...We were never good at hiding how we felt, so we suppose we will be a child for us both then.” Some people could stand strong and roll with the punches while others simply did not. While it was true that flipping out solved nothing, it was apparent by words that perhaps Jezz did not agree with the way the other worded things. After all, he did not see flipping out or showing fear as being a child or acting without reason. True fear and what not could make a situation worse than it was, but that problem only got bigger if someone simply hid the fact they were actually afraid too. So what if the emotion was shown on the surface. That didn’t make one a kid. It just meant that person had a different way of coping with things than another did. And quite frankly, he much rather be called names than pretend to be something he was not. Regardless of the words and thoughts, the blonde didn’t seem to be trying to start a fight with what was being said as they moved along.

Golden eyes would glance over at the other as he huffed and responded to his apology. Smiling lightly Jezz would shake his head lightly. “Even so won’t you get tired of the whining in the end?” The words were a half-joke. On one hand, he appreciated that the guy would let him continue on if he wanted to, but on the other he had to wonder about his tolerance of such matters. Besides...it wasn’t like Jezz liked weighing others down with his own problems, so despite the offer he would more than likely keep most of the grumpiness to himself if he could.

However that went, Jezz become mostly quiet and only smirk lightly at the small response he got to his comment about being wise. This silence would linger a bit longer until the talk of killing versus knocking unconscious came about. As he heard what was being said, he wouldn’t answer right away as he pondered the question a second longer and then shaking his head lightly, he would look over at the other.

“...We suppose we are in the same boat as the ones that follow a command. We never questioned who were sent to kill. Never stopped to think like that and quite frankly didn’t even consider it a possibility until you brought it up.” Welp that was out in the air, but at least this round he didn’t seem as uncomfortable about speaking on the matter, so maybe this a good thing. Who knew.

What was known was that eventually silence would fall between the pair again and in that silence, Hyacintha would decide she really liked the taller man and in turn show him affection, something that seemed to catch the male by surprise and only further confuse the wizard she was with. Hyacintha was strange. She seemed to do as she wanted while at the same time doing things to prove misgivings from others wrong. It was a strange dance for sure and perhaps if things hadn’t gone south as not one, but two big snakes made themselves known, Helix might’ve ponder this mystery a bit more.

Speaking of snakes, they were sure proving to be a pain in the ass. As soon as Helix cast his spell and revealed at least one of the enemies information, he was soon knocked flat on his behind as the snake used an earth attack on him.

“Helix!” Hyacintha would hop a bit as she winced as the wizard not only got knocked over, but got smacked a second time this round by fire. She could hear him cursing about bad luck as he patted the fire out and picked himself back up again. Heh. Good thing he was tough...speaking of tough….

Hyacintha’s eyes would go to Jezz who was still down and shaking his head still clearly out of it. She wasn’t sure what had happened to make him fall like this, but she had to remind him somehow of who he was. Otherwise this would be bad.

“Jezzie, you need to breathe and calm down. You can fight, but you need a clear mind to command us and fight back. Come on you can do this.” She tried a gentle encouraging approach….but ended up getting a look that clearly said “Nope you are mad.” from the blonde. Oh boy….what now? She would fold her ears down a bit, but seemed to become a bit more hopeful as she heard Sharaku's words.

"That is much appreciated!" she would tell the man happily before looking back at Jezz wondering if he would be able to pull himself up again.

What now indeed. Jezz was not liking this. It felt like everything he knew up until now was blown to bits by this one strange fall into this beautiful and hellacious land. He didn’t get any of this. Not the world, the reason why the two with him seemed to know him, or why being faced with demons filled him with sorrow and excitement. The creatures told him he could fight, but how that was so when he never had to fight a demon in his life was beyond him. And command them? What was that all about? He couldn’t command other people, let alone creatures….could he?

He tried to shift through the chaos of his mind and remember, but every time he seemed to get close to something, the fog would get deeper and the headache worse. It was frustrating and pressure from all around was threatening to drive him mad. His only instinct was to shake his head even more as he buried his face in his hands. Tears at his point began to flow. He couldn't stop them. Wouldn't stop them This was too much and yet…

"How do you know that without even trying?’’

The words would pierce through the swirling chaos and remind him that he was not alone here. That there was another right there and if he sat and did nothing he might screw both of them over. Could he live with that? Live with a death he could've prevented if he just pulled himself together again.

….

“Try?” he would repeat in a whisper as he peeked between his fingers at the scene before him. The snakes, the small wizard that was trying despite it all, the little fox at his side, and Sharaku who was staying back for whatever reason, but was still there. All of them were keeping their shit together and trying in their own way despite being faced with unlikely odds. And he what was he doing?

Being a waste of air and time. You have a weapon that is effective against that one Helix scanned. Now get up and stop being such a piss baby.

The voice of logic, or whatever one wanted to call it, kicked him rather hard, but it was enough to snap him out of his daze and actually get him to focus a bit more. Wiping away tears, he would speak a bit louder this round. “Right...G-gotta try…” He was still shaky and frazzled, but at least he wasn't paralyzed with fear and despair now. As he pulled himself to his feet, Hyacintha would hop on his shoulder balancing herself easily enough as he swayed a bit and then looking towards his left hand, he would hold it out slightly as if he was reaching for something. As soon as he did, there was a flash of light and from that light a strange weapon appeared. Oookay…Well that was a thing, but he wouldn’t question it much as his fingers wrapped around the weapon.

As soon as he did this, the world around him went blank as the field changed to one surrounded by smoke and flames. Before him was not the snakes, but something much bigger. It was imposing and threatening, but he was not afraid. He would push himself off the ground and move his weapon forward to strike down the beast...no demon that was in his way.

In reality all that would be seen is a unexpected stillness and silence from Jezz as he seemed to calm completely. Then gripping his weapon tighter, he would grab one side of the dress's material to hike it up so he wouldn’t trip as he moved forward with inhuman speed and grace nearing the Lamia that had been scanned. Once within range, he would push off the ground and go upward aiming his blade right at the reptile's face…

Re: Land of Mystery

Observe for what though? All these colors only made the impression of being high on LSD or some such. Not something he would want to spend time looking at to make himself feel calmer. It was more so a disturbance to his sight, and one he found to be a nice scenery only for a while. ‘’My eyes would probably disagree with this anyway. I’d prefer something less saturated. It’s not like we’re doing some rainbow party.’’ And if they were, he would likely try to find an excuse not to go. Too much of a headache even thinking about the idea.

Eh. He would frown slightly, shaking his head. ‘’Well, you’re definitely more likely to be able to than a normal human, that much is for sure. There must be some reason as to why you even exist after all. If you were only capable of what a normal human is, what would really make you all that different from them?’’ He didn’t know the other well enough in that regard, but what’s a non-human if they’re basically the same as if they were a human? At least in terms of capabilities, that is. And ones that had real use, not just something random like splitting up. That doesn’t serve much of a purpose, now does it?

Speaking of which…’’I usually prefer not to, but if I have to, I can.’’ He wasn’t very pleased by the idea of doing it, and he would honestly rather avoid picking fights with demons. However, there wasn’t a big chance that he would be able to do so here. Maybe if he were on his own, he could reason with them somehow, but with company? If they decided they wanted the blonde gone for whatever reason, he wouldn’t be able to do much there, aside from letting himself get dragged into the battle. Some demons could be friendly enough, but most of them didn’t bow down to just about anything, and if they did, then not easily.

Hm. Well, that wasn’t necessarily what he was aiming for though. Maybe he should have worded it differently, but then again…’’Why?’’, he would fix the blonde with a questioning look. ‘’You say you are non-human, and you don’t even flinch at the idea of killing people, meaning you are probably stronger than a normal person as is. Why are you so easy to turn into a mess in the first place? You already speak of crying when we don’t even know what will we end up facing out there for sure yet. I don’t understand. I would have thought someone with a status as yours would be more confident to stand firm in general.’’ This guy probably wasn’t as frail as your everyday human, so why panic and weep so quickly? He probably had way better chances of coming out of situations just fine, compared to almost everyone else. Yet, he was probably less able to keep it together than some completely normal people would. Not that all people are that overconfident of course, but there are always those who aren’t afraid too easily, and they don’t even have any means of holding out for very long to begin with. In all honesty, he just didn’t expect someone like this to act like they were a bit of a coward. The whole thing about showing emotions on the surface notwithstanding. It’s more like, why do you let yourself fall so deep in, in the first place?

Moving on though, regardless of how that ended, he would snort slightly at the question he was given. ‘’I get tired of a lot of things. Can’t possibly shut out everything that has a chance of becoming irritating with time. What kind of a life would that be?’’ Well, technically, it didn’t sound like a bad idea, but he wouldn’t chance that. Basically anything can turn into a huge annoyance, so he would have to refuse taking part in literally everything if he wanted to avoid all possible pitfalls. That’s not really a viable option, Is it now?

How odd. This actually brought up a question. Why did this guy even work as a mercenary, or whatever it even was? Sounded like an odd job to take on, considering the blonde didn’t seem all that tough normally. Or maybe it was just him, but he didn’t see the other as some deadly killer. Not with how the guy tended to act. Outside of that…’’I see. So, if you had been told to kill me sometime after we had met the first few times, would you have done it without a single thought?’’ Just like that? It was mildly disturbing, to be honest, even though he was capable of defending himself if need be. Well, this guy wasn’t human…but still, he acted a lot like one, so why not have some natural moral conscience? Thoughts aside however, there were more attention grabbing things happening. Like him having a cuddly fox as an accessory all of a sudden, and then some snakes wanting to have dinner.

He would frown as he watched he battle, only pausing his observation to glance at the fox when she briefly spoke to him again. ‘’Right.’’ He did wonder what difference would he make though. It’s not like he was any good when it came to stopping people from bawling. It wasn’t something he was skilled at, so there wasn’t much he could do there, unless the other chose to simply listen to him.

…and maybe he did? He was honestly not sure at this point, but the fight was certainly developing in strange ways. Ah well. At least, these reptiles didn’t seem to be horrendously strong, so maybe the trio would be fine without him needing to butt in too much. Of course, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t have things to say. After all, observing the situation is much easier when you aren’t a direct part of the fray….

Re: Land of Mystery

“A rainbow party? No, this is no rainbow party as fun as that sounds,” Jezz would actually chuckle at that one as the nonsensical talk seemed to keep him distracted for the moment. Then becoming a bit more serious he would continue. “Even so, it seems that we have differences in what we consider worth observing and beautiful. True, the colors her are over the top, but sometimes you can find some interesting things in the mix,” he would say with a light nod. Some things seemed flashy and to bypass such a thing simply because of that sometimes left the one who turned away lacking the full understanding of the thing. After all, surface beauty was only that the surface of thing and not the truth of the thing being observed. The blonde was quite sure this place was no different...if one could actually sit and enjoy it without the worry of being attacked that is.

Differences in taste aside, things would settle into a more serious matter. As Jezz heard the words being spoken, he would frown as he scratched his head. “We don’t know how to answer that….We can’t remember anything that states we were anything outside of just, well, us. We know we are not human because of the split fusion thing and the fact we have superhuman abilities like endurance and what not. Oh and we can call upon a bird I am sure is not from this world and happen to have a cat also not from this world attached to us back home. There is honestly just to much weird in the mix to classify us as just human. Even so, demons were never a thing for us even if the odd was.. And to be able to face demons? We..we don’t know….and the more we try to dig into the memory files, the more it lashes back with pain and fog. Our mind is no help and this place? I dunno even know what this place is, so I doubt it will be help at all….Even though some believe it to be helpful...yet those some are people we don’t even know either,” the blonde would sigh frustrated as things just got more muddled and painful the more he thought. He would eventually shake his head as he looked up at the other with a moody expression. “It is enough to drive one mad really.” Honestly what was up with all this anyway? And how were answers supposed to be discovered here? What was he? And what was up with him not being able to remember anything past what he had been brought up to understand as truth? The blonde could not comprehend it at all as they continued to move along with the two creatures following behind.

Even though his mind was all over the place and feelings of sickness was flooding , Jezz managed to at least keep up with the fact that the man he was with was probably more well versed in this demon matter than he was. Unlike himself, this one had seemingly dealt with and even fought demons, so this was nothing new to him. It definitely placed him at an advantage over Jezz, who most certainly believed he had never had to deal with demons before; however, instead of feeling jealous or aggravated with this fact, the blonde swallowed it well enough and in turn found himself more curious than anything about the man and his connection with the demons. Sure, he wasn’t going to try and drag the whole story out here, but that did not stop him from poking at what he was given.

“Mmm….How many times have you had to deal with them? Do you still deal with today? And on that note….are all demons hostile? I mean...I know we were joking before about tea and what not, but do you think we’ll find any that maybe will just let us past you know? Or are they all about fighting?” Yeah. Alot of questions there, but he wanted to know whatever he could gain on the creatures that made him feel so odd just by mentioning them. If the guy had any insight on the matter, maybe it would make this whole thing easier to swallow and actually help him calm down….Well maybe. It was hard to say with what came about with the conversation they were having about why he was flipping out to begin with.

Why he asked? The blonde would looked over at the other with a look that was a mix of despair and exasperation. “Yes, yes. It is true we don’t have an issue with killing humans or standing our ground in the face of some oddness. This world is odd, but that is okay. I can handle that easily enough. That is normal for us, but the rest of this? This is beyond that. For starters, that form change was not normal, demons are not normal, and quite frankly my mind is drawing up the most nightmarish of things without even seeing said demons yet. Now place on top of that, the fact that I can’t seem to remember jack squat when I try to go back a past a certain time in my life along with feeling queasy and generally uneasy and you can already see why I ain’t jumping for joy here. It is not exactly comforting feeling like I am literally falling apart here. Oh, I want to stay calm and all that, but it is pretty fucking hard when everything within in you is rebelling against that idea!” He would growl at the other, but then just as quickly he would pause in his walking as he closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. The headache was really bad now, but even so. “Shit,” he would grumble lowly and then shaking his head, he would look down and off to the side as he let out a huff, trying to calm down. “Look….I am honestly not trying to be an ass or a burden here, but I have no other way of releasing whatever this is,” he would begin a bit calmer and then looking up at the other, he would give him a tired smile. “I am pretty fucked up right now in ways I cannot explain. I am scared because I don’t know what this means in the end for me or any of us. It might be easier to swallow and stand firm when nothing is actually hurting you, but for us this is a small hell really. I can’t say why, but this place is pulling me apart in ways I never thought possible. And while I appreciate your logic in the matter….I just can’t swallow it all just like that….Sorry...”

He would trail off at the end becoming a quiet as he began to feel even worse than before. He understood that the guy was trying to help in his own way he guess and perhaps he shouldn’t have snapped at him, but on the other hand this stuff going on inside of him was a bit overwhelming. It literally felt like something had gotten in him and was now tearing him to bits from the inside. It didn’t make sense and it was this along with other things that made him so irritable and biting. Even so, he wish he hadn’t done that….Who knew how that impacted the other….But now it was out there. So he suppose he would deal with the whiplash of it all. It wasn’t going to be pretty he was sure of it...One side of him knew this already and yet he had snapped anyway. Sigh…Perhaps this was something they would not be able to settle easily and a hole he was cursed to fall into always. Damn...

Shifting in his spot he would resume walking again, letting that go where it would. At least it seemed things became a bit better when the conversation moved elsewhere. Jezz would let out a small, dry chuckle at what was heard.

“I guess it would be pretty nice and yet dull at the same time,” he would respond back seeming to perk up slightly despite his stressed mood. You could block out the world and live a life without the worries of what the outside world could bring; however, the downside was that sort of life would block all the wonders of life out and in turn make it a bit harder to deal with reality when one was forced out into the world. That small break in heavy stuff aside, the subject would turn to his job and killing.

“Nein. I would not kill you off if ordered to do so. Unlike all my other targets, I actually have more to consider when it comes to you. You may not be a friend, but you have a connection to us through the fact you are an acquaintance and one we are kind of used to encountering. That connection would make me hesitate since you are no longer just a face and data on a screen or piece of paper.” He would answer that rather easily, his tones neutral and calm the whole time. He was trained to kill and not ask questions. Trained to block the moral compass that made others hesitate when faced with killing another. He never considered not doing what he was told...not until he actually had a connection with someone and in turn had a crack in the typical wall that blocked his moral compass. It was a strange way his mind worked, but that was simply how it was. He never saw it as wrong until it was pointed out just now and another path was laid before him.

That talk aside, things would get a bit stranger as time passed on showing things like cuddly foxes, hungry snakes, folks getting knocked on their ass, and shifts in behavior. Yeah things were a bit confusing at the moment and didn’t seem to get any clearer as time went on.

While Hyacintha was happy that Sharaku was not abandoning Jezz despite the mess he was at the moment, she found her joy being crushed as the counter attack missed despite that nice build up.

“Are you kidding me?" she would say as she hopped in her spot agitated at this. “Get your shit together and hit them already! I mean come on. It is two huge snake, you know?” Welp so much for the cute and innocent act.

Meanwhile Helix was taking quite the beating it seemed and no matter how he tried, the damn snake kept smacking him down. For fuck sake! Can a man just get up?! The wizard was already a bit unstable from getting rocks to the face, so when he heard Sharaku’s words, he would actually nod.

“That’s a good question,” he said as he seemed to come to terms with something as he glanced at Jezz with narrowed eyes for a moment and then shaking his head, he would look at Hyacintha. “Stop getting mad and switch with me already. I am a bit sick of baby sitting and getting my ass handed to me by snakes right about now,” the wizard would say a bit peeved as he moved away from the battle field.

Hyacintha seemed to be a bit confused like she was waiting for a command from someone else, but then seeming to understand the nature of the situation, she would fluff and nod as she took the wizard’s place on the field.

Away from the chaos of battle, Helix would flop down near Sharaku and take off his hat to brush the debris off it and out of his hair. “Broken master is broken master….We'll have to contend with this somehow...” he would grumble loud enough that Sharaku could hear if he was paying him any mind at all. Still moody at that situation, he moved from dusting his hat off to getting dust off of his cloak. Freaking snakes….

Back on the field, Jezz didn’t seem to hear what was being said or be phased by what was happening as he remained quiet eyeing the snake a bit before his eyes drifted down to the fox next to him. As they made eye contact, Hycintha would fold her ears down a bit. This was worse than she thought. Even so she had to do her job and support, so she tried to give a happy mew to the other in greeting, but the blonde did not so much as smile as his face remained blank and his eyes unfocused as if his mind was elsewhere. Blinking once,  he would turn his eyes back to the snake as his grip tightened on the weapon...and he tried to attack again.

A solid hit. A strange grin would spread across, Jezz face as he flicked his wrist causing the blade to extend. Without hesitation, he would swing the weapon towards his target.....

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Sharaku on Tue Nov 29, 2016 10:08 pm

‘’Like what?’’ Colors are just colors, no? What would suddenly be more interesting about them anyway? As for the rest of the place, well, not that it was bad, but eh. He wasn’t too interested in random things that could possibly be found here. If something came up, great, but otherwise, it was whatever.

Well, what is there to do about that? Lamenting over it is probably not the right answer, really. He would shrug slightly. ‘’Maybe, maybe not, but why be such a downer about it? If focusing on the negative possibilities rattles your mind so much, maybe you should try to take a different approach? So, you don’t know. That doesn’t mean the answer is going to be a ‘no’ almost for sure, or that you won’t actually find anything of help if you simply take it head on. Besides, it’s not like we can just walk right out of here anyway…Might as well do the best we can until we do find a way.’’ There are many things people just don’t know about themselves, even if they come up in different ways than this one in particular. If you let the confusion drive you mad though, aren’t you the only one keeping yourself away from the possible solutions waiting somewhere ahead on the path?

Speaking of the consequences of going ahead, there were the demons, yeah. ‘’Depends on what you classify under ‘deal’. If you mean fighting, then only once or twice. And no, I don’t. I don’t know if there are any demons around where we are in the normal world, to be honest. As for hostility, it varies. Most do like to challenge though, so I wouldn’t bet on them being too friendly. I could probably get past most if I was on my own, but I don’t know how would they react to you.’’ He had his ways, but they would likely think the blonde an easy target very quickly, and since they were pretty much intruders here, the chances of them being straight up nice were obviously low. It was what it was though, so they’d have to deal with what they were about to be served…

…if they didn’t eat each other first or something. Geez, someone was lacking composure today, eh? Then again, it’s not like the guy was ever the calmest person around. But he didn’t want to fight, in all honesty. It was so not worth it. Still, for currently unknown reasons, he would narrow his eyes at the other slightly. ‘’Why, thank you very much.’’, he would quip in a sarcastic tone, the remark probably coming off as rather…odd. What was he even referring to? Well, either way, it sure did not seem like he was all that pleased by this place himself, and if the blonde was somehow paying enough attention through his exasperated ranting episode, he would probably notice something akin to a few faint blue lights sizzling around the taller man for a brief moment. What was that about? Well, maybe he would find out eventually. That said and done though, he would sigh faintly, pinching the bridge of his nose. ‘’Hell has many definitions, trust me. Regardless, all I’m saying is that losing it and freaking out is probably a ticket for making the entire experience a good deal worse than it would normally be.’’, he would shake his head. ‘’You’re saying you can’t remember things, but I’d assume that is probably not a completely new thing? If so, why is it suddenly a huge deal now out of all times?’’ No really? Plus, feeling uneasy on some level was probably sort of normal when faced with complete unknowns, wasn’t it? The demon part, just what? Technically, scaring yourself prematurely with horrible interpretations is kind of…well, your problem, rather than it being the fault of outside factors…

‘’It sounds like a recipe for a rather bland existence.’’ Not that he didn’t like ignoring the reality, but it’s not like it was truly possible anyway. And too much of a good thing can be bad for you as well, therefore it would likely end up being a fail of an idea in the end, even if it was possible to do so for extended periods of time.

Face and data, eh? It was a rather sad way of viewing people, to be honest. What made a person you just met so different from one you’ve been acquainted with a bit? Only real difference is that you would recognize the latter when meeting them again later. In both situation, the person’s life is worth pretty much the same. Unless they of course truly deserve the punishment, but death is a rather severe one either way. There are typically better ways to get back at someone…’’That’s kind of sad. Acquaintance or not, every person has the same worth in the end.’’ He wouldn’t say much more on the subject after that one comment though.

Besides, other things were happening that were more important than the conversation, that’s for sure.

He would snort when the fox got agitated all of a sudden. ‘’Why don’t you try yourself then?’’ It’s not like the demons were statues. They could make attempts at dodging too, and just because something is big doesn’t mean you will auto-hit it. Those snakes being agile enough was a bit of a surprise, however….

Regardless, he would stay pretty much still, only taking a glance at the guy who sat by him a while later.

‘’What are you two trying to accomplish here?’’

Re: Land of Mystery

Post by Rika on Wed Nov 30, 2016 9:54 pm

“Many things,” Rika began as he tilted his head slightly as he observed the crystal like fruit on the tree. It was a very tempting thing to pick, but how wise was that to do in a unknown place that was clearly not of this world? Did not Dorothy get attacked by the very tree she plucked an apple from never realizing it was the rude thing to do? Strange musings aside though, Rika would blink as he looked back at the other, his light smile in place as he counted off the various things that could be found on his fingers. “Research material, inspiration for art, stories, etc. You name it and it can be found if you take the time to look for it, hehe.”  The blonde was easily amused, but was being honest with his words. When he felt safe, he honestly could spend hours exploring, examining and coming up with ideas just from observing and wandering alone. To him the surface view was never the true view, so he always kept his eyes open for the other faces things showed.

That aside though things would run from imaginative to reality as the other questioned his behavior. While typically a criticism such as this would’ve ruffled the blonde in unexpected ways for whatever reason, he was actually listening to the other and considering what he was saying, his initial upsetness settling the more he thought through the situation.  He was quiet for a bit as the other finished speaking and then looking him up and down, he would speak.

“You make things sound so simple….and yet maybe you are right. Perhaps we do need to try something different…” His voice was soft and a bit distance as he continued to ponder that for a bit more as time continued onward. He would remain quietly contemplating this new path that scared him to no end and made him uncomfortable, but maybe that was okay. Being uncomfortable meant growth, right? He could use some growth and change...and who knew maybe he would turn out better for it in the end. Just right now he needed to do a better job of not being a burden...hard as that was given the circumstances.

That small silence aside, things would pick up again as the conversation turned to the man and his dealing with demons. “So they were in our world in places you lived?” That was a bit strange. Sure he had heard of demons from religions, but actually dealing with them for real? He...He didn’t think so…. And yet he found himself easily swallowing the possibility. Why? Was it due to the guy with him and his trust level with him, or was the acceptance something more? It was a peculiar situation, but the blonde found himself poking a bit more at the topic as he rubbed his ear lightly. “You said you had to fight them and you seem to know them well enough to get past them, but doubt they would let you pass because of us….Why is that?” He couldn’t help, but to ask. The more the man revealed, the more curious the blonde became and maybe things would’ve been fine at just that. You know, light curiosity and interesting tidbits. The odd yet nice sort of talk, but no. It seemed that no matter how good things began something always came up to cause friction between the two.

As Jezz went off on the other, he found himself a bit taken back by the reaction given. While the other opted not to fight back, his comment and what happened next caused a strange thing to happen with the blonde. The first reaction was a bit of shock as he did indeed take notice of the change up in the other’s way of speaking. “Eh?” He would look at him confused for a moment not exactly sure what that was all about or even what the thank you bit was about. He wanted to ask, but the odd light show caused a very strange shift in the blonde. His confused look would melt away and for a few brief seconds his expression would harden as his head bowed slightly as the blonde watched the other almost as if he was daring him to attack him, but why was that? Why would the blonde do that when he was the one at the disadvantage and the blubbering baby so to speak?

It was indeed a troubling scene causing Helix to pause in his walking as he watched the pair with narrowed eyes waiting to see what would occur, but it seemed the flare up and personality flips were only momentary for it seemed as soon as one calmed down so did the other. The pair kind of mirroring each other in action as the light show ended and Jezz blinked before looking at the other seeming a bit disoriented and looking like someone who had forgotten what he was doing for a moment; however, the blonde would recover as the other spoke of hell and freaking out. It took him a moment, but the blonde would eventually nod slowly. “We suppose we understand….still doesn’t make it any easier though…” he would say a tear actually falling as he looked away from the other and did what he could to regain his composure….whatever was left of it that is. As for that question posed, he would take in a breath before letting it out as he wiped away the tear and looked back at the other with narrowed eyes as he tried to bring him into better focus.

“We do forget things and can’t remember stuff from time to time. And we have had some road blocks here and there when it comes to memory lane, but don’t you think it is strange? We only can remember what we were told by Mother about our lives meaning all memories of my childhood becomes super muddled like something is missing or a piece picture has been wiped away. It was...not so bad before. Just minor clouds and annoyances, but here it brings itself out full force because...we want know why that is. Or what happened to to the pieces,” he would give a light snort as he tried to smile a bit.

“We think it is a big deal when it feels like half of yourself is missing. So we seek it….more than ever before, but why we suddenly want it is hard to explain. We just have this tug that is saying we should find the truth. We don't really get it and it gets confusing the more we think about it...It honestly makes no sense….” He would close his eyes and shake his head at that one. He didn’t quite get why things were happening this way. They just were and in turn he would have to deal with it and try not to be driven mad by it all. Though...maybe the other was right about the freaking out part. Perhaps he could use some reworking on his thinking patterns for the problem at hand to make it easier for both of them. He could try, right? Trying didn’t hurt...did it? Well one would have to wait and see. Moving along...

“Bland indeed,” the blonde would agree softly as he gave a light nod to the topic of isolating one’s self from everything. Maybe for some that sort of life worked, but in the long run the blonde could not see anything good coming out of it. Speaking of nothing good coming out of things, can we focus on this topic of faces, data, and the worth of life?

To what was heard, the blonde would tilt his head slightly at the other, a look of true curiosity on his face. “All are weighed equal?” he would ask not seeming to completely get the concept. After all, he was never taught the value of life. Just the value of things and how to protect what he was close to. He never considered worth or weight when sent to kill a target. Strangers were just blank things to him with nothing holding him to them. They were just things only worth the amount of money or safety they could buy for himself and his own. Acquaintances became distinguishable faces from the things and grayness of the world and in turn had small strings there that made it hard for him to just off them without considering some things first. Weighing only when they had a face and a value bigger than just another blank slate in the world, but now this one was saying all humans had equal worth? What a bizarre concept; however, how far that went was unknown.

What was known was that things were becoming quite strange in with the presence of a threat.

“Hmph! I will,” Hyacintha would respond back as she fluffed up before going into battle as Helix retreated. She would show them all how things were SUPPOSE to be handled. Leave it to a woman take care of things. Hmph!

That drama aside though, Helix would remain relatively quiet as he watched the battle unfold. He would smirk from behind his high collar as one of the snakes went down. Well, at least the earth tossing one was down. Good riddance; however, he would only sit in that happiness for a few seconds before hearing the man he was with speak. To his question, the wizard would look over at him and narrow his eyes as he considered something for a few seconds. Then seeming to settle whatever it was he was debating, he would speak.

“That’s a rather long story,” the wizard began before looking back at the battlefield watching it unfold. “But to make it short we are trying to get him - not the blonde, but the real him back to being whole again. The answer rests somewhere in this place, but I wonder if we can find it quick enough. He is deteriorating rapidly….and will continue to do so the more he is forced into battle and the longer he lingers here. It is only a matter of time before he is unsalvageable on both ends….” It was a grim matter, but even so what were they to do about it? They couldn’t ask time to stop and this land was riddled with danger that would not make finding what they were looking for easy…..and to survive the blonde would have to fight which in turn made him deteriorate faster...It was not a pretty thing to ponder in the long run. "....."
