After Work Chat Empty After Work Chat

Post by Rika Sun Dec 10, 2017 6:46 am

Ever since Rika and the one known as Sharaku started dating, the rabbit eared bar owner had gotten used to seeing the taller of the pair in and out of the bar. She figured the only reason he was hanging around the bar was to wait for Rika to end his shift. Kind of cute to be honest and it seemed no matter how bad the day, the sight of the guy picked the up the younger demon’s spirit. It was something nice to see after watching the guy deal with so much on his own for a good while. She couldn’t be sure, but the guy seemed a bit lighter on his feet. A welcome change from the usual.

In any case, she would go about doing her work until it was time for closing. As Rika shoed out the last few customers, the woman would go about cleaning the bar until she had to pause to shoo Rika away too. She didn’t want him to overwork himself and besides he had someone waiting for him did he not? It was with much relucance the younger demon left and to be frank, she had expected Sharaku to go with him. She was actually amused as she saw Rika move to give the guy a kiss; however, she didn’t stare as she went about her own duties.

When they were finally done, she would come out of the back room with wearing her red pants and red tube top that she had donned all evening the only thing different now was that she wore a black jacket and her hair which she had loose before was now in a high ponytail. She would move a hand to dim the lights to complete the this “bar is now closed” look. She might’ve wandered out of the place easily enough, but she took notice that someone was still there.

Glancing over at the figure, she would raise an eyebrow as she recognized who it was. Curious, the woman would drift over to where the figure was.

“You still here, Sharaku? I thought you had come here for Rika. Did something happen?” she would ask as she came to a respectful stop away from the guy.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Sun Dec 10, 2017 5:44 pm

Well, yes, he did come around here and there when he had nothing else on his to do list. Nevertheless, that didn't have to mean he always hung around with the sole purpose of waiting for the demon to get off shift. If the entire point of his visits were just to be there to escort the guy home, he could simply make plans to come around exactly when the other got off and not spend extra time in here instead. At times he was really around just because, to be honest. And it was simpler than finding some other place he didn't even know. Don't fix what isn't broken, right?

He was slightly lost in thought, pondering some things, when the woman decided to approach him. Oh yes, he should probably head outside, that was true. He would shake his head a bit. "I don't always come just to accompany him on his walk home. I've decided to stay out longer this time. I'm sure he's not going to kill himself on the way considering how close to this place he lives.", he would state with a light snort. Well, if the other did manage that, it would be rather unfortunate, but he'd really have to wonder how.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Mon Dec 11, 2017 7:18 am

The rabbit eared woman would observe the guy as he thought admiring just how good looking the other was. Heh. Rika got a double win to find someone good looking and someone who perhaps even took care of him well. She couldn't say for certain, but the young man before her had done somethings that kind of backed up that thought.

That aside though, red lips would smirk at the other's comment as she nodded a bit. "Well no. I don't think he would either. He's walked that path alone so many times I am pretty sure he is prepared for anything," she said looking to the door for a bit as she pondered that for a moment quite amused; however, after a few seconds she would look back at the other with a softer grin. "Speaking of that rascal, I've been meaning to thank you for heeding my request the other day. I know it was out of the blue, but I appreciate it nonetheless." She could've easily gotten rejected that day, but instead this one had stepped up to the plate and delivered in a way she could not be more grateful for. She had her employee still and outside of being tired, he seemed to be doing well and recovering. That was always a good sign.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Mon Dec 11, 2017 5:46 pm

"It'd be pretty disappointing if he did.", he'd remark flippantly towards that. And quite unusual if it were to happen the one time he decided to not go along. Not that he wanted to be thinking about doomsday scenarios right now. "Hm...", he would make a small sound when she started thanking him, before just offering a light shrug. "There's...no need. It's not like it was a huge deal." Everything was just fine, really, and it's not as if he had missed out on something important by having done that.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Tue Dec 12, 2017 7:21 am

The woman would chuckle at that one. "Indeed," she would begin before watching the other with an amused smirk as he responded to her thank you. "You say that, but I bet even if he says nothing it was a big deal to him." Sometimes what seemed small and trivial to one person could actually mean the world to another. That aside, she would stay quiet for a moment before shifting in her spot a bit as she considered something. "May I ask. Were planning to stay inside or did you plan to go walking at this hour?" An odd question? Maybe, but it did have some purpose for the rabbit ear woman. It's just said purpose wasn't clear just yet.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Tue Dec 12, 2017 9:53 am

Eh? He would tilt his head slightly at that statement. "I was saying that from my perspective, not his though?", he would blink a bit. It's not like he had said it was no big deal because the other said it was nothing. He was answering for himself there, not trying to interpret whether it meant much to the demon or not. That was kind of a different subject there. In any case..."I guess I'll probably go out. You're closing, no? There's no reason for me to stay here and hog the space." If he stayed in, she wouldn't really be able to lock up the place, and would be forced to stay around until he decided to leave. That'd be kind of rude.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Tue Dec 12, 2017 5:23 pm

"Mmm. I understood that you speaking for yourself. I was just saying that despite what you think it made a bigger splash for someone else is all." She would say with a light shrug. She wasn't trying to start debates there. She was only pointing out an observation. That aside, the woman would nod at the other as he spoke.

"That is very kind of you and yes sir. All I have to do is lock the door and I am out of here. Since you're going out though, mind walking with me for a bit? It is quite a trek to where I need to go, so the company would be nice."

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Tue Dec 12, 2017 8:08 pm

"I don't- eh, nevermind.", he would just sigh with a shake of his head. He still didn't particularly get the connection as him saying his own half did not mean he wasn't aware someone else could perceive the matter in a different way. He thought his own thing, other people did theirs. It was as simple as that. The was no absolute being put down with his comment, nor was he assuming anything by it.

He would snort faintly. "I'm simply applying logic. In any case, sure. I don't have anything better to be doing at the moment anyway." It wasn't as if he had special plans made or anything like it. He just hadn't felt like going home yet, so he was still around.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Thu Dec 14, 2017 6:12 pm

The older woman would watch the other and in turn smirk even more. "You know, you don't have to think someone has missed a point just because they made a comment about something that perhaps differs from your way of thinking. Sometimes comments are just that. Comments. Nothing more and nothing less." She would give him a small wink after saying that, knowing it would probably come off odd considering the guy wasn't displaying anything that suggested he was thinking too hard on the matter. Even so, it seemed she was able to pick on some things from that sigh, so maybe she was good at reading people or she could be bad and just rambling based on what she had witness. Time would tell.

That aside, the woman would give the other an amused glance as she spoke. "Ah, a logical one. I wonder how far that logic runs in you." She was quite curious to be honest. Curious as to what sort of guy had her 'kid" grinning from ear to ear every time he saw him. Maybe it was a mama thing or maybe she just had some desire to know the guy better considering he was almost like a regular at the bar. Whatever, the case was she was happy the guy took her offer and decided to spend some time with her. Shifting in her spot, she would gesture for the guy to follow as she made her way towards the door. "Well I am glad I am not pulling you away from something oh so important." She would say her tone a bit sarcastic, but not in a mean way. More like in a playful way, but how the other took it was left to be seen.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Thu Dec 14, 2017 6:33 pm

Well, he was thinking in his own way, though whether it could be considered as thinking too hard or not honestly depended on the person looking at the matter. This was actually almost making him go cross-eyed for the moment. "That's not really...I just don't understand.", he would huff. It wasn't even so much about missing the point at this stage, as it was about the fact that he was confused. Confused as to what point was there in making such a comment when it apparently wasn't meant to be anything more than just a random comment. Plus, it wasn't like he was unaware of the fact that others could think differently, so he was technically being told what he already knew? How was he supposed to react to that? He couldn't exactly go 'yes, I am very enlightened now', because he was fairly sure he would just come off sarcastic as all hell by doing that. Ugh, this made his brain hurt.

Nevertheless, he would give her a wry, half-smile when she commented on his logic. "You probably don't really want to know the answer to that." It wouldn't be the prettiest one after all. Though, he could always try to take pride in the logic, but it frankly wasn't always all that, depending on the situation. In any case, he would follow, raising an eyebrow at the comment. "You're technically pulling me away from self time, but saying that would just make me sound like a narcissist.", he would shrug lightly.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Sat Dec 16, 2017 1:49 pm

The woman would tilt her head at the other, her amusement still there. "What is it that you aren't understanding?" she would ask not quite getting what was so confusing about what was happening, unless the guy was indeed thinking to hard on the matter. To her this was normal conversation, but apparently to one such as this one it was much different.

In any case, when she got the response back to her curiosity on his logic the woman would raise an eyebrow at him slightly. "Oh? And you think that answer is going to make me desire the answer even less now?" She would smirk at the other. "Come on tell me. I can handle it." And honestly whether the answer was as beautiful as peaceful lake or as disturbing as decaying flesh, the female demon was pretty sure she could take whatever came her way even more so when she worked in a bar where all sorts of shit was talked about. Well wherever that would go, the demon would lead the way on their path, her eyes catching the expression the other gave as he responded back to her comment. "Ah, but you just said it and to be frank you don't sound like a narcissist to me. Just someone that enjoys a me time. I kind of envy you there. I rarely have me time." She would say with a light chuckle as she continued to walk.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Tue Dec 19, 2017 6:01 am

"The point of this exchange. If the comment is there just to be there, and carries no real meaning, why are we talking about it and how it apparently relates to what I think again?" What were the explanations and pokes about what he was supposedly thinking/seeing this as for when the comments were meant to be nothing important? He was honestly getting lost there. Was he supposed to take the jabs at his apparent way of thinking seriously, or just ignore it all and say nothing specific in return because it was all just 'comments' as she put it? He had no idea how to interpret this, and the smirks and whatnot were not being helpful either.

He would huff. "In an ideal scenario, it would." Well, he had kind of figured she was probably going to keep asking despite that, but it didn't mean he couldn't at least wish it was that easy to sweep the matter away. Nevertheless, he would shrug. "I've mentioned it before. I'm not the most mentally okay person either. And I'm really bad with anything that carries emotional implications." He was more likely to miss the cue or mess up than anything else. Especially if he was dealing with a person who was very sensitive to a less warm approach and all that.

He would shake his head with a faint huff as he walked. "Enjoy is too strong of a word anyway. I just find too much company to be an annoyance very fast, thus alone is better out of principle. I've never been much of a people person." If he had to, sure, he was capable of putting up with it. Still, it was not a preferred way of spending time, and one he generally avoided.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Tue Dec 19, 2017 7:31 pm

Merk would raise an eyebrow at the guy as she got her answer. "Casual conversation isn't always about some form of meaning. Sometimes it is just a way to spend time with another and pass time versus something deep. As for how it got here, well I would say it is the way we view the words. You see them as something relating to something while I don't always see it that way unless it was a deep conversation to begin with." It was a bit hard to explain in words, but she was trying. Though she wonder if it would only make him more confused.

That aside, she would smirk at that next one. "Heh. Well you are gonna have to try harder than that to make the situation go your ideal way." She was going to poke within the bounds of respect of course. If the guy seriously didn't want to answer or be bothered with it she'd back off no problem. Anyway, she'd tilt her head at the other. "You did mention it before, but I never got to poke into how deep that went. As for the emotional stuff, are you saying you are emotionally numb to things or...?" She had to wonder considering the words he said could point at various things.

"So," she would begin as she continued to walk at a casual pace, her eyes drifting up to the dark skies. "You just do it because it is something you prefer versus getting enjoyment out of it. A lone wolf sort. Interesting. You and Rika share that trait, but for very different reasons." This one was alone by choice and preference where Rika was alone due to more than likely being held back something he just wouldn't say. She was sure if the kid had whatever held him back out of the way, he would be a more outgoing people person. Or at least that is what it seemed like when she reflected on it. Hmmm...

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Sharaku Thu Dec 21, 2017 5:55 am

He would shrug there. "I would think people don't say things without a reason behind it? It has to relate somehow. I don't really get this kind of spending time though. I seem to have nothing to say towards random vague comments. Might as well stand in silence instead." Conversation only works when both sides are engaged in it. It doesn't necessarily need to be deep in terms of topic perhaps, but there are levels of random and meaningless that can easily make things float away into silence. Maybe he was just bad at casual chat, but it typically did not hold his genuine attention well. Especially when done in person. He could play randomness in message chats and whatnot, as it actually worked better there. Even then though, sometimes he had no idea why were certain things...well, a thing.

"There's always an easy solution. I could just walk away and ignore you if I so chose." There are ways to get the ideal result, even if some of them may be rude. Nevertheless, he would sigh faintly at the questioning that came after. "Not sure if that's the appropriate word for it, but I suppose kind of. I'm bad at identifying emotions, whether my own or others'. It's not necessarily that I don't feel anything...as much as it sometimes really feels that way..I just can't tell what the emotion is exactly. Usually. I could tell you the name of the condition, but that won't tell you much unless you do psychology or something." He wasn't the worst possible there was, but it sure did cause him trouble here and there. Especially when it came to closer relationships where he was supposed to be in tune with things. Rest in pieces that, really.

He would snort. "He isn't really like me, I can tell that. I simply don't appreciate people nagging me all the time, so I wouldn't want to spend my time in crowds a lot. He's different. The fact that he willingly works at a bar where he has to deal with people left and right says enough. He just has issues trusting people, which is why he doesn't have many actually close contacts." The guy wasn't that hard to read, honestly. Well, as long as one paid enough attention, of course.

After Work Chat Empty Re: After Work Chat

Post by Rika Sat Dec 23, 2017 6:08 pm

Merk would scratch her ear a bit as she thought on this. "To be honest, I've never really thought to hard on this matter. I mean yes I would agree things relate or tend to relate to other things within a conversation unless one person decides to randomly change the subject for whatever reason, but even so I never saw differences in opinion or approach as not relating to each other. So I suppose I am a bit confused when you poke at in a fashion as if it has a deep meaning or no meaning at all and thus isn't relevant," the woman would pause as she chuckled again. "Then again, I haven't been one to do well in these sorts of arenas either." She could analyze things, but like this? Not really there was only so far she could go before she started to wonder what the hell were they picking at to begin with. That aside..."Ah so if someone isn't being direct with you, you don't see the point of responding?" Though if that was the case, she had to wonder if that sort of behavior wouldn't piss someone off or agitate them to a point where they would snap at him or poke at him for the behavior. Hmmm...How curious.

“Heh, you most certainly could,” Merk would respond back with an amused smirk and if he did decide to up and leave well that was his choice. She would continue on her way and not stop him if it came to that. However, the situation wasn’t like that at all as she moved along the road passing by people as cars zoomed about on the dark streets. As she continued to walk, she would hear what the other said about the whole emotion thing and find herself glancing over at him with a small frown. “That sounds like a tough lot. How do you manage that? Even more so with someone like Rika around?” She wasn’t trying to be super nosy, but she had to wonder. If the guy was the way he was, how did he handle Rika and vice versa. In her head it seemed like a set up for pain, but Rika seemed to the adore the guy, so what did she know?

Well whether the other answered or avoided the question, the conversation would eventually come to a comparison of the two. To what she heard, Merk shook her head. “I think you are wrong there. I think even if he may be the polar opposite of you, he may share some traits with you that are similar. It is true he deals with the crowd and he could work his issues; however, I think if the guy had no issues at all, his ring of close contacts would be limited. He seems to be just fine with one or two friends and hanging with them here and there, but honestly, I think that social interaction for him has a limit. I think he a loner in some regards and being away from people is a must to keep his sanity.” Rika may seem like a social butterfly, but honestly that was a face that would last for so long before it cracked and the guy would need to retreat. At least that is what she understood from observing him both in a crowd and on occasions one-on-one. Rika was a strange fellow that was for sure and it seemed the one he chose was just as strange. Heh. Maybe the strangeness is what drew them to each other. Who knows?
