Lake Front Property Empty Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Sun Sep 04, 2016 12:33 pm

While the kids were distracted by other tasks, Olivia had the maids help her pack up bags in a quiet manner and help her prep one of the backup cars the best she could for a long road trip. She did her best to keep the kids out of the loop because for once the woman actually wanted to do something she thought could maybe fix some strains within the family.

She figured if she could get the kids to come with her to the lake house, they could actually spend quality time together and get away from all the work and loudness of the city. She wanted to reconnect with her children and even somehow make peace with her newest child that for one reason or another didn’t care for her.

She wasn’t sure of where the disconnect was, but at least she hoped this alone time with the boys and girl would make things alright in the end. So with hope in her heart, she planned this relaxing trip for herself and the kids and when the time was right she woke them up randomly one early morning and before they could fully get enough sense in their heads to fight back, she told them to get in the car.

Too sleepy or out of it to care, the trio shuffled to the car with Tamiki carrying the youngest since she just refused to walk on her own and Rika somehow remembering to get his brush on the way out. They complied easily enough as they settled into the car.

Eva and Rika sat in the back seat, the youngest one of the group automatically undoing her seatbelt to crawl onto Rika’s lap. Rika didn’t seem to care much as he simply auto adapted to the situation to keep them both from getting harmed in case of an accident. Olivia had expected Tamiki to sit in the back with them, but surprisingly, he slipped into the front passenger seat and after fumbling with the chair took to kind of reclining as he opted for more sleep now that he was in the car.

With everyone settled, Olivia took to driving the car herself as they left the house right before sunrise. The first half of the morning was mostly quiet as Eva and Tamiki remained sleep. Rika while awake didn’t speak too much as he watched the scenery outside pass by. Occasionally though the pair would fall into light chat over something random they saw, but ultimately it remained quiet enough until Eva woke up and in turn woke up Tamiki. There was a lot more chat and noise in the car with everyone up and a bit of chaos broke out here and there, but for the most part the trip was fun enough and when they finally arrived at the lake sometime in the afternoon, everyone was in a rather pleasant mood considering it all.

With high hopes for the trips success, Olivia worked with Tamiki and Rika to unload the car and get things settled in. Eva, on the other hand, did not help at all as she looked around the area wide-eyed like a kid at the candy store. She wanted to explore, but….

Her smile would fade a bit as she looked back at Tamiki and Rika. They were working so hard to help that woman get things all nice and neat for the stay. Maybe she should help too….

She would bow her head in thought. What to do? What to --? Eek!

The girl stiffened a little as she felt a hand on her head. Looking up, she found it was Tamiki giving her a smirk.

“Go on. We got this,”
he told her as he gestured with his head towards the new world ahead of her. She gave him a small frown at first a bit reluctant.

“You sure?” she asked, as she looked up at him uncertain before her eyes moved to Rika and Olivia who were messing with something on the porch of the house. She wasn’t sure what it was they were busy with, but it did cause the woman to jump back with a yelp and even Rika seemed to lean back from whatever it was they were contending with. Maybe a rodent or something...Hmmm…

Tamiki seemed to read her hesitation quite well as he chuckled lightly at her.

“It’ll be fine, little one. After all it is one house and three of us. It shouldn’t be too bad,” he would say as he turned to watch as Rika moved to get a stick as mother backed up even more giving some directions. It made him curious as to what was found, but even so he would look back down at Eva with a small smile. “Look if we need back up, I’ll call you how about that?" he would say causing the girl to tilt her head a moment and then grinning she nodded.

“Alright, but I expect the whole tune, okay? No, half-assing it like last time k?” she would say as she looked up at the other with a challenging smirk. Tamiki laughed nervously at that one.

Alright. Alright. I’ll do better even under pressure, so shoo already,” he would say waving her off as he turned to go back towards the house. Content with the agreement, Eva would nod to herself before turning her back on the house and running off into the new green world before her. There was just so much to do. New trees to climb, new hiding places and treasures to find, new prey to hunt, and so much more. With so much to do around her, she wondered if she could actually complete her to do list before it was time to go back home. It was a curiosity she wasn’t sure how to answer, but she knew she would try to do as much as she could before leaving. So with a happy giggle, she would head off into the new land before her.

For a few hours, the being known as Eva kept herself content as she moved to one place or the other to explore this thing or climb that tree to find something else new around the corner. Indeed she was having a good time, but around the three o’ clock hour she would find herself coming to a halt in her exploring as she came to the large lake that dominated the land.

For miles on end there was nothing, but blue waters and a mysterious shore on the other end. Moving to the lake shore revealed the lake had clear, cool water in it and a bit further out some tasty looking fat fish. Not exactly hungry at the moment, Eva would take a moment to go back inland to take off her shoes and socks and hide them within a tree. Once done, she went back to the lake’s edge where she'd walked along the shallows a bit, pausing to lean down and pick up a shiny rock. Lifting the item up and holding the rock between her thumb and index finger, she would observe the item's various colors as the sunlight played upon it. Such a pretty rock.

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Sharaku Sun Sep 04, 2016 5:10 pm

One would perhaps think it’d be unusual for the young man to be found at a place such as this one, so far away from the city itself, on his own. And perhaps it really wasn’t something your everyday person of such age would actually do, but when did he even conform to what was supposed to be normal? Besides, his parents were nowhere near where he currently lived, so it wasn’t like he even had the option of moving around with someone looking after him. He wouldn’t even want that anyway. And really, what could actually happen to him here? The place was surprisingly peaceful for now, and he wasn’t afraid of an occasional animal that may or may not pop up nearby. Nature was one of those things he actually liked, so he did go out to get some real fresh air when he had the time to and wasn’t bogged down by other things that needed to be taken care of.

Why this place exactly? That would probably remain unanswered for a good while, but perhaps it was the fact that it was mostly empty and there generally weren’t people randomly walking around and being a disturbance sans for a few occasions when someone decided to make a trip of their own. Even then, it was at best a few people at once, which is nothing when compared to the constant crowds of the city areas. Therefore, Sharaku would opt to not complain too much in case there indeed was someone around and he happened to have to interact with them. It happened very rarely anyway, as he didn’t exactly stay around the camp areas too much in the first place.

Oddly enough, despite being around at the current time, he wasn’t actually doing anything. Why? Well, if the girl playing with rocks at the shore of the lake stopped being distracted by the little objects in her hands and looked around further, she would perhaps notice she wasn’t exactly completely alone in the area. Kind of. The young man wasn’t necessarily a very disturbing presence for the moment, as he was sitting under one of the trees fairly close by to the lake. He was leaning against said tree, and it appeared that he was actually asleep? He certainly looked like it at he first glance, if nothing else. The fact that he did not give a single reaction to the girl who recently wandered close by would only make that assumption more plausible. The truth would remain to be seen for now however. Maybe she would eventually notice? Or do something loud and ‘wake’ him up? There were plenty possibilities after all….

‘’….zzz?’’

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Tue Sep 06, 2016 9:18 pm

The girl would continue to observe the rock for a while with a blank expression as she tilted her head this way and that way as she watched the surface change. It was kind of amazing that such a simple thing could keep her busy for hours on end as she let those colors tell her mind stories. Or the fact that something so simple could bring her such joy. While she did drift in Lalaland for a short time, she would pull herself out of it as she pulled the rock into the palm of her hand with a grin.

Yes. Her stories were fun to keep to herself, but she wanted to share some with Jezzie (her nickname for Jezabella), she bet her songbird would love that and it was probably a much needed thing since currently they were stuck with that human she just did not like. Her joy would end a bit as she thought about the one her songbird called mother.

That woman...she did not understand how something like Jezzie could actually stand obeying a human like that. She was a manipulative beast that only gave things in turn and not real love. She was a beast in human skin, so what was the deal?

Jezzie could just strike out and tear her to pieces and be, free you know?...But instead they stayed and obeyed her commands….even though it seemed to bring them misery at time. Was the creature attached to the woman for real or was it just watching and waiting? Maybe the reason her songbird hadn’t left was because the human entertained it? Hmm...a mystery she couldn’t quite figure out just yet, but perhaps with more study she could crack it...Though to do that the woman would have to be alive, wouldn’t she?

Eva would sigh as she pouted a bit. She honestly wanted to eliminate the woman, but couldn’t do that without knowing if Jezzie would react badly to it or not. Sometimes caged birds died even if they didn’t love their masters. Sometimes just being used to the company was enough to form some twisted attachment that destroyed one when it was gone. It was a complicated matter, but one she would pocket for later just as she pocketed the rock. Well, until she figured the answer out she would keep Jezzie happy and keep that woman in her place, so for now she guess she could considered life purrfect, yes? Yup!

WIth her good mood back in play the girl would move along the water’s edge dancing and splashing a bit until upon a turn her sharp eyes caught something white that distracted her. Freezing in her spot, she would blink as she would turn her attention further inland to the thing that had distracted her.

Not too far away was a tree and under that tree a figure she did not recognize. She wasn’t sure where this figure came from or why it was here, but the fact said figure was just suddenly there was quite curious on its own. The figure wasn’t moving so the cat had to wonder was the thing was alive or dead?

Becoming more intrigued by what she saw, Eva would drift from the shores of the lake and quietly make her way over, her bare feet making not a sound as she moved over to the figure.

As she got closer, she discovered the other was a man, a very pretty man at that making her wonder if he was human or not. She sniffed the air lightly, trying to catch the scent that would tell her the truth of the matter; however, this one smelled ordinary, so maybe he was not inhuman and just for whatever reason was very pretty. He was even more pretty sitting there probably sleep.

It was hard to tell since closed eyes did not always mean one was sleep. On top of that it was even harder for her to decide if she actually wanted to mess with him or not. Keeping a safe distance for now, she would tilt her head as an index finger went to her lip in thought. What to do with this curious creature? Hmmm...

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Sharaku Wed Sep 07, 2016 5:59 pm

Seeing as the girl made the decision to move around quietly instead of attempting to disturb him somehow, there wouldn't be a whole lot happening. Maybe he did register her somehow though, since the corner of his lips would twitch slightly. Even if she did catch that however, it wouldn't tell her much aside from confirming that he was at least alive without her needing to come closer to check.

She sure wasn't going to figure out a lot by standing at a distance, that was for sure. Looks could always be deceiving, and while he wasn't completely normal compared to your typical humans, her nose wouldn't be able to catch that anyway. Not unless she had the ability to sniff things other than scents themselves. Because that alone wouldn't tell her anything out of ordinary. Not in this particular case.

Regardless, he didn't seem to be waking up or have any intention to move so far, so the call would fall on her. Do something or wait until something happens without her interference. Maybe it eventually would, but there was certainly no telling as of yet. Even if he was aware of her presence, it's not like the fact that she was standing ways away was actually threatening him, thus there was little reason to bother and engage her in any way at this moment.

She would keep her distance watching the other with curious eyes as she debated what to do. She could see that he was breathing lightly and a small twitch from the lips suggested he was very much alive. She honestly had no reason to bother what appeared to be just a man sleeping, but at the same time there was something about him that just made her stay where she was and stare as she thought.

She was pretty sure this place was public domain, so the fact that this man was out here shouldn't have been a surprise....and yet it was. Maybe it was because the whole time she had been wandering around, she had not seen another person outside of her family. She had honestly thought they had the place themselves, but then this guy came out of no where and now she wasn't to sure what to do. Sleeping humans were boring to watch though waking them could be dangerous depending on the reaction they gave. Er...well anything being awoken was dangerous. She herself had left some marks on her family when they tried to wake her up and while Jezzie was more or less harmless when not provoked, Eva had learned the hard way never to wake up the being without warning when it was whole and if separate always be cautious of Rika, who shared the trait of auto attacking when startled out of sleep. Tamiki somehow lacked the hostile trait and was actually quite calm and collected when awoken whether startled or not. He just became a bit idiotic once he was fully awake in her opinion, but that matter was a completely different story and kind of not the point here.

The point of the matter now was what to do about the guy before her. Disturb him or not disturb him? Hmmm...She would ponder this a bit more and then coming up with an idea, she would look around the area until she spotted some flowers not too far off. Grinning to herself, she'd move off quietly to the flowers and pick four of the long stemmed beauties. Carefully weaving their stems together, she'd make a nice arrangement of the blue and yellow flowers before measuring the length to make sure they were perfect for wearing in the hair.

Once content, she'd go back to the sleeping man and cautiously approach, trying not to make a sound. If she was successful in getting near, she'd carefully extend the hand that held the flowers and try to put the decoration in a spot right above the man's left ear. She tried to do this with a steady hand so as not disturb the sleeper.

If she managed to get through all this, she'd quietly back off to observe her work, but if caught well....well she'd just have to deal with that if it happened, yah? Right now, she concentrated on getting the flowers in his hair.....

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Sharaku Fri Sep 09, 2016 9:04 am

Her choice of action was an odd one, that's for sure. If he were actually involved in this for real, he probably wouldn't understand the point behind doing such a thing. Without permission nonetheless. It's not like he was a doll to dress up, whether he was awake or not. That, and she was lucky to not be making some lame mistake. What would have happened if he was allergic to said flowers or something like that? Likely nothing good. Thankfully, none of that was the case right now.

Speaking of being lucky, she sure was. While the reason was currently unknown, he didn't seem to be too jumpy this time around. And while that didn't mean he wasn't going to notice her sneaking around once she got close enough, it would at least ensure that she wasn't going to get bitten somehow. For now, that is. Then again, he wasn't really a fan of violence anyway, unless he had to or he was just that pissed off and annoyed by someone.

That said, he actually made no move as she did her thing, though he certainly did notice. He could recognize the smell of flowers alright, and there was no question about it when it was that close. Still, he would do nothing about his predicament yet, and while it may have seemed that he was still dozing off at first, she would soon realize that was not true. While he wouldn't move nor open his eyes just yet, he would opt to speak.

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Sat Sep 10, 2016 8:22 pm

The operation was a tense one that required both stealth and a steady hand to not wake the target. It was true this was not the most logical thing to do and probably even rude or dangerous; however, such a notion never crossed Eva’s mind as she carried out her task. No, in her head this was a small challenge and a game the man before her had been subject to thanks to being sleep. She had tried these small games before with Jezzie, but found out the hard way that her lovely bird had a limit to how much play it allowed.

Jezzie, no matter form, was easy enough to play with as long as one backed off when the creature said the time spent was enough or simply did not wish to play. She learned a long time ago that no matter the from she couldn’t exactly push her wants on the creature and when she did, the creature had a way of revealing its claws that was more than enough to put her in her place when it came to fun and games. She learned the cruel lesson when she had gone a bit too carried away with her play

It started when she had decided to do pranks on the creature. Sneaking in to the room to take an item, doodling on their face when they were sleep, or try to stick a random item in the hair were some of her pranks amongst others. In her mind, it was funny watching Jezzie recover from the small pranks or after panicking a bit over something lost, watching that relief appear when said object was given back. Jezzie would always laugh or smile. It never attacked back or tried to prank her back, so in her head everything was going well and everyone was happy; however, she found that the smiles and giggles were covers for annoyance and for about a month Jezzie let her get away with the play before actually acting.

The only warning she got was a rather subtle one from the twins after she had decided to switch shampoo for hair color for Rika and got Tamiki with a water prank. Tamiki naturally went into a cursing fit and kind of stormed off and locked himself in his room. Not really unusual, so she thought nothing of it. It was actually Rika that made her think for two seconds that stopping was a good idea. While he took to having hot pink hair well enough (boy did he make that color work for him), he did ask at random why she liked to play pranks and when she responded back by saying it was fun, Rika had simply stated that perhaps she should be careful then, because what was fun for her wasn’t always fun others. The words had caught her off guard for sure, but she recovered pretty quickly and called him a bad sport for ruining her mood. Rika handle the words well enough and had only shrugged and said maybe he was.

The whole thing was delivered with gentleness and a smile, so outside of the initial two seconds hesitation, she did not take the event seriously. She was allowed to keep up the pranks for two more days before out of the blue, Jezabella (as a whole being) approached her early in the morning and invited her to play a game of cat and mouse in the maze garden. The creature said that it would be the cat and she the mouse.

Absolutely loving this game of hide and seek mixed with tag, Eva had agreed to the game and so had accompanied the creature to the garden. Once in the garden the game started off well enough. Jezzie counted to 60 while she got a head start on hiding. Oh yes it started simple alright, but became a true run for her life. Jezzie did indeed hunt her, but any time she was found and the creature gave chase, it would do things such as throw knives at her or even send those terrible flesh seeking birds after! She couldn’t believe it and had even asked them to stop playing so rough, but only got a rather unstable laugh in turn.

The game went on for an hour, the maze gardens becoming hard to maneuver in when frightened. The game ended when Eva ended up hanging upside down from a tree by her leg thanks a spring trap Jezzie had set for her. Hurting and terrified, she watched as the creature came around a corner like a ghost, with one of the beautiful birds of death perched on its shoulder. Face-to-face with beautiful and misery, the cat and the songbird had a nice long chat as she hung there coming to an agreement on a set of rules when it came to play. They both promised to follow said rules so the situation would never turn into this sort of game again. From there, the creature had released her and gave her a second chance.

It took three months for Eva to recover and actually approach the being again. When she finally did have enough courage to approach again, she decided to approach Jezzie when it was two and approach Tamiki since he was the calmer of the pair. She asked him why they had done what they did to her and his calm reply was: “Because it was fun for us.” A chilling finisher for the lesson, but something she had never forgotten…

At least when it came to playing with Jezzabella that is. This man, on the other hand, was not part of that agreement so she could do what she pleased right? Besides it wasn’t like she was harming him by putting the flowers in his hair so why should she be bothered or concerned? All she had to do was not wake him.

And you know what? She succeed!

Quite pleased with herself, she would back off quietly and observe her handy work taking note how the flowers amplified the man’s natural beauty. Oh why hadn’t she thought to bring her paints? He would’ve made a lovely picture to sh--?

Eh?!

The grin faded and her body froze as she heard the words spoken as her eyes widened a bit and she looked over at the other. He didn’t seem to be awake and yet...yet he was highly aware of her actions?! Then did that mean he was never sleep to begin with? Her mind whirled as she shifted uncomfortably in her spot.

“Umm..I…” she began and then shaking her head calmed herself. “I just thought you would look better with flowers in your hair, so I added them.”

Yep. Lame excuse, but not a complete lie either. He really did look even more beautiful with flowers in his hair…..

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Sharaku Sun Sep 11, 2016 9:51 am

Since he hadn't bothered to actually open his eyes while he spoke to the intruder, there was not much else he could do besides waiting for an answer. While he could discern that someone was nearby and all those little things, he wasn't omnipotent just yet. Thus, he wouldn't be able to tell her reaction. At least the one that didn't involve speaking. Though, did it even really matter? It wasn't exactly his problem as to how she reacted. This was only happening because she decided to not keep her distance and risk getting into possible trouble. It could have been much worse than this, but luckily for her, he wasn't in the mood to jump at her since she hadn't done anything too dangerous to him.

Hearing her response, he would move to sit up straighter as he crossed his arms over his chest, finally opening his eyes to get a look at the disturbance. He didn't really expect a young girl, but the only reaction to that would be a raised eyebrow for a split second. For now, he opted to leave the flowers be as they weren't getting in his way just yet, though one would wonder how long would that last him. Random foreign objects were often a source of annoyance after a while.

''Do you often do things without permission?''

He was certainly taking this calmly enough. Perhaps it was the fact that he had been sleeping and wasn't awake enough to be more proactive yet? Who knows. Still, she wouldn't get away from a bit of questioning, if nothing else.

She would stay where she was watching the other carefully despite her fidgeting nature. The guy had his eyes closed for a while and so didn’t really react until she spoke. As he shifted and sat up a bit, Eva would find her already wide eyes widening a bit more as she looked at the other. Now that he was looking at her, he wasn’t just a pretty... no he was drop dead gorgeous! She wondered in a competition who would win the prize for most beautiful: Jezzie or this guy. Such a lovely creature. It was probably a good thing she didn’t bring her paints after all. She probably wouldn’t have actually capture that this natural masterpiece in painting. Just wow!

Random thoughts aside, the mild shock would last for only a few seconds before the girl looked off to the side blushing a bit. However, her embarrassment over staring would quickly vanish as she fold her arms a bit and pouted as she heard the question.

“Those that are dozing off typically don’t do well in responding when asked a question,” she would begin and then looking back over at him she would continue. “Though if this is a in general question, then yes. I do as I please since I hardly find the need to ask for permission in most cases,” she would say her voice calm as she watched the other from the corner of her eye.

Eva was Eva and so did what pleased Eva. No human or other being was her master, so why ask to do do anything? She just did whatever, though with precautions only for Jezzie. She didn’t exactly want to die, so yeah…. Jezzie was the only one she would play with cautiously and maybe even ask before doing something. Everyone else? Well, they were free game unless something happened to change that.

On a side note, she did take note he didn’t move the decoration. Did he not notice it and he had simply been disturbed by her presence? Or did he not care that it was there? Huh. Curious.

The only reaction to her staring and whatnot would be a blink. Whether he understood her reasons behind it or not was unknown for now, but it was probably of no matter anyway. Unless she decided to expand on that subject later, that is. After all, she was the one being affected, not him, and he wasn't exactly the type to acknowledge that kind of thing obviously unless there was a real need to do so. In this case, there didn't seem to be one as they'd soon proceed to discuss for a bit.

He would click his tongue lightly when he heard her answer. Of course not. Which is why it's polite to either wait until they wake up, or if you really have to satisfy your urges, wake them up yourself before making sure you're not about to do something they won't like at all. Though, she was right about it having been a more so general question in this particular case. ''Is that so?'', he would ask at first, his tone mildly sarcastic. Well, perhaps he was not very action oriented immediately after waking up, but he sure could be a little grumpy. If that's what one would choose to call his current behavior. ''But I don't have to want it, do I? Would you be happy if I just went ahead and did something to you simply because I felt like doing it, even if it was something you are against?'' Most people did not like things like that after all. Besides, he was a stranger to her. Even more reason to not think you can just do whatever you want.

Regardless of how that went, he seemed content to just remain sitting where he was and watching her. Did she really only want to put flowers on him, or was there something else as well? He sure didn't know, but he saw no reason to move right now.

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Sun Sep 11, 2016 11:10 am

She would take note of the blink, but did not really react to it as she held her position for the moment and used the brief pauses to compose herself some more. About time they actually started chatting the young girl was back to being her usual self. To the click of his tongue, she would tilt her head a bit at the sound as her golden eyes drifted to lock on him. She would remain calm for two seconds before her expression becoming quite unreadable as she heard his first response.

“Indeed it is so,” she would say, her voice devoid of emotions as she watched him with a steady gaze. She would remain posed with her arms cross and her expression blank. Such a grump. Maybe he really had been sleeping after all. Unless of course grumpy was his regular personality that is. Hmph. Well, this was all just too bad for him, then wasn’t it? He'd have to simply deal with her now that he had decided to engage with her. So there! As for the next set of questions…

Eva would sigh as she let her arms drop to her side and she pretty much rolled her eyes at the situation.

“No you don’t have to want it and that is kind of the point when it comes these sort of games. You don’t get it because you want it. You get it because the other party gives said thing without permission and then watches you react when you do wake up,” she would say and then dropping gracefully downward, she would sit on the ground tucking her legs elegantly under her as she fully faced the other. “As for your last question, well it would depend on the situation. If you did something to intentionally harm then yes, I’d have a whole lot to come after you with; however, if you did it out of play or something not harmful, I’d just go with the flow. Sure a sleep prank can make me grumpy, but it is not harmful, so why stay mad? Speaking of that, did you honestly think that everyone that saw you sleeping there would just leave you be? Sure I used flowers, but I’ve seen some do worse things to others before. You know you are kind of lucky. This place doesn’t get that much foot traffic. I think if it did, then my flowers would be the least of your concerns.”

She would finish, her words a bit bratty, but calm all the same. She wasn’t being hostile and didn’t seemed to bother by the questioning, so maybe this was a good thing, yes? In any case, the more she thought on the matter of people, the more she wondered just what was this one doing out here anyway? Was he on vacation or something? Hmmm...Maybe she would ask if the conversation went there. For now, she seemed content enough with what she had in front of her.

Well, she would get little outward reaction from him, no matter how indignant she would try to appear. He didn't really feel like being extra accommodating at the moment, since she was the one to initially disturb him, not the other way around. If she was fine with just doing whatever to people, then she ought to be fine with any kind of response she gets to that in return. It's as simple as that, isn't it? To be honest, he wasn't sure what kind of reaction she expected from him anyway. To jump for joy? Since she definitely didn't appear to be extremely pleased by him pointing out her slightly rude behavior. In fact, she even seemed to be trying to smart-mouth him, as if he didn't already know the things she was saying. So what if that is the point? Still doesn't mean one should just accept it and not do anything about it if they can. Some things, you have to endure even if you don't want them, yes. But he didn't really see pranks as something to be included in such. It is completely unnecessary to pull random pranks and whatnot on someone in the first place, thus the one on the receiving end definitely has the right to at least complain in some way and let it be known that they do not appreciate the sentiment. If you really want to engage in such randomness, you can always pick on someone who will take it in stride and not care. And if you don't care about how a person will react, then don't just be all smart-pants when said response leans towards the unpleasant.

Regardless, he would not say or do anything until she finished speaking altogether, at which point he would simply narrow his eyes at her slightly. It could easily look like he was glaring at her and getting angry, and while the former was sort of true, he was only mildly annoyed at the moment. He wasn't known for dealing well with 'bratty' people who thought it was okay to play around as they wish and disregarded how it made others feel. When in a good mood, he could perhaps manage to weave through such calmly, but as calm as he generally was, he still had a temper of sorts. It wasn't really something one would wish to be subjected to, and he certainly knew how to be intimidating at times. ''And I would like to believe I am entitled to oppose that. There's no reason for me to have to accept your ideas of a game if I do not find it enjoyable in any way.'', he would give her a wry smile before sort of mimicking one of the things she had said after sitting down. ''That said, do you honestly think I don't already know the things you are trying to lecture me about? Still, you are you and I am me. You may not care about play and be fine with it, but that doesn't mean I see things the same way. Please, don't assume that I should perceive the matter the same way you do, or are not aware of my position. Though, if someone did do something worse to me? They'd pay for it. It's pretty simple. After all, you reap what you sow.'' He was certainly no doormat. Sure, he could appear to be laid-back and generally non-harmful at a glance from the distance, but he would bite hard if need be. On the other hand, it wasn't necessarily as bad as it could come across as. He did have the tendency to be a bit too intense when making his point. If he was truly angry, it would have gone down differently, so while he could appear quite intimidating, it wasn't quite it. Most people weren't able to tell the difference though, which was too bad. All it would usually take was someone who was willing to challenge him fairly without turning it into a series of personal attacks. He could be pretty cynical alright, but he did care when the situation was right.

Either way, while he did seem to be more awake now, he still made no move to do anything outside the verbal exchange they were currently having. Which was technically a good thing. It's not like there was much for him to do, and if he were to decide to take the confrontation to a higher level, it wouldn't be nice, would it?

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Mon Sep 12, 2016 11:50 pm

He didn’t really react or say much as she spoke and acted. Not that it really mattered considering the cat was quite used to various behaviors when it came to humans and how they reacted to things. It was true she may have had a narrow view from her prison back then, but she had watched humans long enough to know of their various faces when posed with certain situations. Did it mean that she could peg everything? No, but at least she didn't flip a lid due to it either. Besides his silence was similar to Jezzie’s when he (you finally defined yourself as a he!) simply let her talk and he listened. Though the key difference here was unlike Jezzie who could be easy to read if he wanted to be, this one did not give any hints on what he was thinking as he simply sat and watched her. This little trait could be bothersome to those unaccustomed to such behavior, but for the cat this was quite fine.

What wasn’t quite as fine was his sudden switch of behavior when he did decide to react. As she sat across from him, she took note of the narrowed gaze he gave. Her head bowing slightly in response as she kept her golden colored eyes on him watching to see what he would do as she tried to read the expression. Was he getting mad with her? Was he perhaps like Tamiki and easily triggered? Was he going to explode on her? Well not quite.... or rather not in the way she expected him to explode.

He didn’t yell or anything, but it didn’t make his words any nicer. To his first set of words she would simply tilt her nose up slightly as she looked away from and stared out into the field around them. “Hmph. I suppose so,” she would grumble not exactly liking the fact that this one actually stood against her way of thinking. She didn’t like it when anyone felt they were entitled to anything. That was her job after all. She was the only one entitled to anything and everyone else? Well, they just had to learn to deal with that fact or get out of her way. She wasn’t used to someone actually taking a stand against her and in turn raining on her parade by bringing them to her level or higher. She was always happy...until she felt as if she was losing. And you know what? This guy...this guy was trying to make her feel just like that. Like she was a loser and that annoyed her to no end. Still not ready to throw in the towel she would hold her ground as she looked over at the other quite moodily as she heard his other set of words.

Her lips would form a pout that would deepen as she looked over at the other and narrowed her gaze as she clicked her tongue clearly annoyed.

“Well, excuse me for trying to be nice and give you a nice warning about sleeping out in the open where anyone could get you,” she would say her tones sarcastic as she shook her head. Hmph. Why did he have to be a know-it-all? And did he honestly think that whole "you reap what sow" bull was going to stop her or impress her? How about no.

Besides she never believed in that anyway. No this all boiled down to those who knew how to have fun and those that where a pain in the ass. For someone so pretty she had hoped this one would fall into the former category, but no. Oh no, he just had to be….disagreeable. Just like Jezzie on a bad day. Much like this one, Jezzie would become all serious and disagreeable making the game less fun; however, she had plenty of reasons not to try and talk back or snap at Jezzie for that behavior as much as it irked her. Sure, she could express her annoyance as long as it was done calmly for she honestly didn’t want to fight with that one. This guy on the other hand, while potentially trouble, did not get that sort of gracious treatment. No instead he would simply get to see the full blown spoiled brat Eva could be as she tried to answer one mysterious question in here: Why? Why were humans like this? In particular those on the adult end? Where was their sense of fun anymore huh?

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Sharaku Tue Sep 13, 2016 8:45 am

A stuck up little girl, was she? No wonder why she behaved this way. Although, it still wasn't really his problem. The slight annoyance he was getting from this was only temporary, unless she would decide to go ahead and do something really uncalled for to him. Pouty faces and words didn't really have a big effect on him. Not from some random stranger he didn't even know. There was no reason for him to be upset by someone when they aren't someone he considers close after all. It was pretty simple. One would be a total wreck if they let everyone affect them equally. And while he did have occasional spikes of irritation at people, it was actually milder than one might think. It only seemed like he was taking it too personally due to his style of speech and the way he presented himself under normal circumstances. The truth was, that she was the only one getting actually riled up here. In fact, at this point he was starting to be more amused than anything else. Really, what was a little brat going to do to him? Get mad because he wasn't playing by her rules? He had as much right as she did when it came to deciding what to accept and how to deal with things.

Still, he would remain impassive for the most part, letting her say what she wanted to before giving a faint huff as he closed his eyes for a moment. ''Your 'nice' warning sounds rather half-baked after you yourself made a point of doing things to me while I wasn't awake. If you actually care about warning me about others, why do you show a similar behavior yourself?'', he'd ask, his tone rather calm and nonchalant. So what if it had only been a flower? It was still the same base principle. She decided to mess with him when he was asleep. He'd bet she would actually find it funny to watch other people do something to him if it were to happen. It's a little sketchy to suddenly pretend to be all nice when your previous actions make it questionable. Besides, his main point had been the fact that she made it sound like she knew better than him and had to inform him of the fact, rather than anything else.

Yet, it was kind of funny. Like she was really just trying to make it seem as if she was the better person here. What was she even getting so huffy about anyway? The fact that he disagreed with her and pointed out some flaws in her delivery? Everyone has some, whether they want to admit it or not. It only makes you look more comical when you're not only unable to accept the fall, but also make the fact blatantly obvious with your actions and tone of voice. Well, he wasn't going to really do anything about it. It wasn't his business. Though, he may as well play the game. Sadly for her, it wouldn't be by her rules. Sure, others could try to play games on him. They would start it, and he'd finish. More likely than not however, they would not enjoy said ending. That said, he would actually proceed to laugh at her behavior for a moment. Nothing too disruptive, but certainly noticeable at least.

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Wed Sep 14, 2016 8:00 am

Spoiled brat indeed. While it was true the cat did not begin this way, the tendency to be a spoiled child had always been there. Even as a prisoner, she had been stubborn, over-confident, and condescending towards those she felt were beneath her. Oh yes she was indeed a high and mighty cat that thought she could hold everyone under her thumb and for the most part she had not been proven wrong. After all, her power was to grant humans their deepest desires. With such an ability and being so sought after that people literally murdered to have her in their possession, was it really hard to see why she thought she was above all else?

Honestly, the only person she did not put in this category was Jezzie. Her powers did not work on him for some odd reason she had yet to discover and also...knowing that someone could easily murder you on a whim had a way of changing perspectives really quickly. She knew the guy was a delicate matter and so respected him. Everyone else? Everyone else was her toys... and toys did not talk back or taunt for that matter. So why did this man decide to be so infuriating? Why couldn’t he just shut up and do as she demanded like that human Jezzie called mother? Why couldn’t he play the victim or as least just go with the flow? Why did he have to be a thorn? This guy….

She would puff her cheeks quite annoyed.

“Well that is your own fault for leaving yourself open and pretty much proves my warning was nice. It is a lesson you should learn well. Don’t sleep where you are vulnerable to attack!”

She would give a light hmph at the end as she looked away from the guy angrily. Yeah, she had probably gotten off point here, but honestly she didn’t know what to do. This was her game until he decided to derail it and shifting it in another direction...a direction she did not like. The more she stayed around this guy, the more she felt she was losing control and that he was taking her game and turning it against her. And look. Just look at that. He was laughing at her now!

With her lips pulled into a tight frown and her eyes a bit wide with indignant fire, she’d glare at him as her breathing increased a bit.

“I was playing a game, but now you’ve gone in turned into something not so fun. And like duh! Of course I am going to get piss, you aren’t exactly playing very nice here yourself. What with all your laughing and what not. You think someone would be amused with that crap?”

Yeah...this was going swell yes?

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Sharaku Wed Sep 14, 2016 1:08 pm

Eh? He would actually blink in mild confusion when she gave her response. Wasn't that exactly the point? The fact that her doing the exact thing she later hurried to warn about made it sound kind of fishy? He would honestly bet that she would have never tried to warn him had he not protested against what she had done, forcing her to come up with something as a counter. Regardless, how was it suddenly his fault anyway? He had already pointed out he was aware of what he was doing, so she was just kind of repeating old stuff at this point. He would snort under his breath. ''You're avoiding my point. Whether it was my fault or not, the fact that you did what you did and only attempted warning me after it didn't pan out the way you expected hardly makes your actions 'nice'.'' If she was trying to trip him up by bringing up old points and trying to make them sound more believable, she wouldn't have much luck. If there was anything he was good at, it was using his brain. Even if it landed him in confrontations like this one more often than not as he went out of his way to point out people's bullshit. ''On that note, I already told you I'm not that dumb. Do you actually think I would have let you go through with your actions that easily if you were trying to attack me? I'll have you know I'm not a deep sleeper. I could tell you were around. I just didn't bother since you weren't harming me, and I wanted to know just why were you sneaking around me before confronting you.'' He knew well as to what it meant if one slept out in the open like this. And he wasn't stupid enough to do so without being decently sure he could avoid problems. That said, he wasn't lying to her. He was certainly more of a light sleeper, and it wasn't too hard for him to realize someone was close by and whatnot. He just didn't always sacrifice his napping completely to see what was up if it didn't seem like it would cause him trouble.

Technically speaking, it wasn't even causing him much trouble. But perhaps he was feeling a little bit vindictive for being disturbed from his nap, and maybe he was in the mood to try and teach her a lesson. He actually tended to have at least a slight dislike for bratty kids by principle, so it wasn't too surprising he went through with it. He could play games too. But just like hers may not be to the liking of other people, she probably wasn't going to like his. It's what she herself said though, isn't it? The point of these games is to do something without permission and then watch the reaction, right? Guess she suddenly wasn't liking her own rules.

He would chuckle faintly at her fiery rebuttal, finally deciding to actually move, standing up from his seated position. While it may not have been so obvious while he was down, he would certainly be towering over her now at his 6'2''. He would smirk thinly, his arms still crossed over his chest as he stared her down.

''Well, isn't that too bad, girl? You yourself claimed that such games are something you do without permission and amuse yourself at the reaction. What happened to that? Not liking it anymore when you are the one on the receiving end? I for one find this highly amusing.''

Lake Front Property Empty Re: Lake Front Property

Post by Rika Wed Sep 14, 2016 10:49 pm

She would see the blink, but honestly pretended she did not see that confusion that only made her angrier. You see, she could see the flaws in what she did, but at the same time was too stubborn to admit that she was wrong. Or admit to the fact that she was actually digging herself into a deeper hole the more she tried to find a way to force the situation back into her hands. She honestly should’ve given up, but instead she tried to keep fighting and denying that any of this was her fault, or that she was missing points here and there. The blind fury in turn made her stand point weaker and weaker by the second as it began to collapse on itself and not exactly make any logical sense. Was this even a debate anymore? Well, she sure thought so. Look she was still going.

“I am not avoiding anything and if it seems like this all came out of things going a different direction, then you are all wrong. This is all going to my plan. A game to teach a lesson, so you see I was being nice. You’re just being too block headed to get that,” she would snap with a nod trying her best to maintain control...and failing horribly at it. Yeah. She was in a bad spot, but at the same time she was doing nothing to save herself either as she was determine to stay on a ship that was fastly sinking to the stronger waves.

The situation only got worse as the situation went on. To the idea that she was actually being tricked in some fashion by the way the other had acted earlier only made her grow more angry as she glared at him with narrow eyes.

“Well, aren’t you just all so clever and aware,” she would growl as she gave the other a displeased sneer. So he had been watching her without really watching her....Waiting to see what she did before doing anything himself? Tch! Where did he get off doing that? It was almost like she had fallen into a trap and she hated it. This wasn’t right. Not right at all.

She
was suppose to be winning here, but not matter what happened, the one before her simply had the better logic and stronger counters. He asked questions that she literally avoided because to answer would mean actually admitting that he was right or had a point….and she would watch hell freeze over before doing that!

So instead of being reasonable and adult like she showed just how much a child she really was as she pouted and steamed over nothing pretty much as she threw a tantrum in her own way. The behavior was matched her spoiled nature and her thirteen year old appearance as she displayed that she was clearly not cut out for this sort of game or battlefield.

While it was true she had indeed started this, she never in a million years would think that what started off as something small would escalate to this. Was she throwing things out of proportion and over-reacting? Maybe, but in the end that did not matter. What matter was she had fallen so deep into a hole that she did not know how to get out of it.

She was running out of logical counters as anger devoured them all and left her mind in a numbing heat. All of her wittiness had dried up in the fire of her anger as well and in the end it all left behind a child that was only getting more unreasonable, the more the other remained calm and seemed to enjoy himself and this game that was now his.

She hated how this turned out, but even more than that was the fact he laughed at her on top of it all. He taunted her with that sound....

As she heard the faint chuckle, she would bare her teeth slightly truly wanting to claw him for this; however, whatever evil plans she had in mind would quickly go out the window as the other actually move and stood up.

Oh man...this guy...he was a giant?!

For a moment, she would just stare at him in shock as the anger in her face quickly drained as she instinctively leaned away from the other as he stood over her and spoke. To his words, she would gulp a bit trying to swallow down fear and panic to face off with him. She tried to be angry, but instead found herself scooting away and then not being able to handle the pressure, she would scramble away from him and get to her feet. Once she was a good distance away, she would turn to face him, her anger back now that she felt safe again.

“Oh don’t think you have won this, you stupid Stick Man! You may find it funny now, but you just wait. You just wait. You’ll be very sorry for crossing me!” she would say spewing out threats and trying to be tough….while she was quickly turning away and heading back the way she came to retrieve her shoes.

Apparently, she running away for now seeming to have had enough of this game for one day. It was a bit sad really considering for all her fire she was really pretty easy to scare away. Was she unprepared? Or did she actually retreat to plan for some revenge against guy? It was hard to say, but she sure made it look like she was up to something as she placed back on her shoes and stormed away up the path heading home.

Welp….so much for that fight. It looked like the male had won and Eva had lost more than just a little pride in the process.

Oh was he really? Then why was she the one losing her composure here? If she was as right as she claimed to be, there would be no need for her to be steaming so much right now. It's usually the one being backed into a corner who starts blowing up. But getting angry isn't going to make them get the upper hand either, if they never had the right for it to begin with. Besides, getting too emotional over a debate is only damaging yourself, not your opposition. And perhaps that was where he had the better standing. It wasn't that easy to make him mix reasoning with emotion like this, and being able to keep a cool head in such situations was half of what was needed to see it through to the end. Of course, it wasn't like he couldn't ever get pissed beyond reason, but that would require something way more personal than just someone having a big ego right in his face. He saw no need to engage in this emotionally, since she was just some random girl who decided to bother him. He didn't know her or anything.

''Is tweaking your explanation to suit you better each time a part of your great plan as well?''

She was way too obvious. If what she was saying were to really be the truth, she could have just come up with that 'argument' to begin with and made it clearer right away instead of trying different approaches. He didn't even have to guess hard to come to the conclusion that she was making up circumstances as she went.

''I'm simply saying what is. If it bothers you this much that you aren't always the one on top of it all, then maybe you should do a double check on your levels of arrogance.''

While he himself didn't really like admitting he was wrong either, as long as the other party was able to give a good reason, he would concede the point. He was confident alright, but only because he knew his game. If there ever was a time when he had to state he didn't know something, he simply would. No one is perfect after all, as much as everyone may wish they were. Regardless, he kept watching her calmly throughout all the exchanges until she actually made him voice out his amusement. Which seemingly only made her more pissy, but he didn't quite care. She was the one who got herself this deep in.

The reaction to him getting up was even more amusing, but he would stay quiet this time. While he did go out of his way to teach her a bit of a lesson, scaring her into oblivion wasn't on his to do list. He had his limits to how far he would purposefully go, and while some intimidating was fine with him, playing the scary guy in this way wasn't of much interest to him. It's not much fun when someone is pissing their pants, because that tends to mean that any meaningful conversation is basically out of the window, if it already wasn't before.

He would raise an eyebrow when she started spewing some warnings at him.

''Oh dear, what have I done? To be honest, I don't see what's got you so angry. The fact that you're such a sore loser isn't my problem. It's yours. I don't even care about winning anything or waging an actual war with you. Maybe you should go do something more productive instead of getting excessively mad at nothing.''

He really didn't care. He took his stand because it was the action that made the most sense at the moment. Did that mean he was interested in keeping some win/lose score with her? No, not at all. All he wanted was to get some peace back. Which was technically out of the window at this point. He hadn't really been dozing off for long at all before she came around, and now he was far too awake to try again. That all adds up to basically no real sleep gained. A great start indeed....

When she ran off, he would just shrug to himself as he turned away to gaze at the lake, thinking....
